Oooh--I love this! It's like a torn paper mosaic! I think the berry shading turned out nicely.

I really like this seahorse--I'm not very familiar with this media, but the luminescence fits the subject matter very nicely. The border also blends in so well--the piece comes together in its entirety in a very pleasing way.

I like the color scheme you chose for this piece. Also, I'm glad no digits were severed during the carving process.

The grainy, yellowed effect makes it look like a picture of the earliest dinosaur skeletons assembled in museums. It's a little hard to see the flying dinosaur in the middle due to the modifications, though.

The editing makes it look fairly abstract. BTW, are we watering this plant? I forgot it was there. ;-)

What a cute and timeless picture of a dog! That expression on his face seems to indicate that he would like his young female owner to take him outside...

Interesting color modification. Unless I am very much mistaken, the slime is quite purple, but here it looks just like a peachy-red rose.

The reflection of the light plus the rich red tone makes it seem like that light might be REALLY HOT. Interesting combination of symmetry and asymmetry in the arrangement of the items.

The splotches look cool, but the ink patterning within each elevates them into more defined entities. Neat technique.

I really like the background effects for this globe - the look is reminiscent of a more historical image. I wonder about the bright reflection on the one central facet of the globe focused on Florida and the Caribbean; is that especially meaningful? Should we be planning to head there, or, possibly to avoid that location? It makes you wonder.

Is this a barrette or a beret? I thought this might have been a picture of Callie in French Club. The coloring does look quite life-like!
Posted 3 years ago by Jennifer (Mother)
This is really adorable. I wish you had taken the picture next to a pencil or dollar bill so I would have a sense of scale. In my mind, this could be awesome at almost ANY size.

Nice entry into the world of printmaking! You could reproduce this design thematic colors for every room in the house!

Very nice balloon dog! This reminds me of the 3D ones you have made...out of balloons! Because it is so life-like!

I like the level of realism achieved purely from dots. From experience, I know this takes a long time, and it was achieved well!

I really like this crazy bird! I don't think it looks like a demon...or if it does, not like an evil, scary demon. My favorite is the dangly legs.

This artwork looks very surprisingly like the previous piece the artist posted! -Mom

It DID turn out beautifully! I love that I didn't notice the bunny until I read the title of the piece--great focus on negative space!

I love how the dog shape is repeated, and when you zoom out, it begins to appear more abstract. Very cool.

I feel like I learned a lot about Frida Kahlo!

I love this! Are the more bold words ones that mean more to the artist? I love how the name is the eyelashes. <3

I liked Callie's new design. To me it has a slightly Celtic style.

I like the symmetry and color choices. I'd like to make this into tiles for my house!

Wow--that sky! I wish it really looked like that around here in the winter!

I especially like the texture and the way the color shifts along the circumference! I'm also a big fan of spiders, and this seems like a very ideal spiderweb!

This pinch pot is so cute and smooth, and is my favorite color: green! I have filled it with some spring blooms and am enjoying it in my office!
Posted 4 years ago by Mom
I love the very three-dimensional feel, even in the 2D picture. I also love how colorful it is. I love how the small differences in the symmetry make clear that this is not a digital reproduction/mirror stamp--it enhances the real feel of the piece. In short, I would like to commission a series based on this concept!

I really like the color scheme used in this piece, and it makes me want to get a cactus of my own to take care of. Also, while I am still trying to think about the artist's statement, I noticed that it was only five syllables away from a full haiku.

My favorite part is the spider, because I love spiders! But the caterpillar is great, because it's very cute and it's free outside of the jar.

Interesting the way the geometrical shapes come together into something we recognize! Also, I like that the artist would like to take a stance against overcrowding and urban sprawl.

I love that you have had an opportunity to learn the styles of so many different artists this year! I like the energy in the bright colors and black/white contrast in this piece.

I love how this picture makes me think of spring! I would love to see it out with our decorations every Easter!

I am very impressed at the color choices in this portrait--it is hard to link observation with art, and I think you were successful with a lot of these aspects! Great job!

I really like the joyfulness of this picture! Even if it is a cat!
Posted 5 years ago by Mom
This print turned out so well--very sharp and clean! While I think your color choice here was really nice, I bet it would be fun to do a color series, and to make additional print designs!

Ahhh, indeed! That giant is blowing you away!

I like this face a lot--I like the kind of smirk-y, line mouth, like "Hmph!" Also, the nose reminds me that I am behind on sewing Girl Scout patches...

I love this Wishtree--I especially love that we can see down into the earth to the roots, to show how well established the tree is, and how long it has been growing there. It is sad that someone wrote a mean word on such a hopeful tree, and they have to mark it off with police tape. I hope that people can come together with hope and love to save the tree!

What a nice picture and comment!!!!!

I love this depiction of the Wishtree so far. I like the roots that he describes, and the hollows, and the wishes that people are adding. I can't wait to see how this artwork develops!

Very lovely and practical example of weaving. The only part you needed help on was finishing the edge of the last side, and that's the trickiest part, because the loops all pull off the loom!

I really like this picture. Actually, I think it reminds me of you, Callie, as a kitty!!!! Thanks for passing the picture to me!!!!............Grandma

This symmetrical dragon looks very sweet, like a good friend and listener. Does it breathe fire or have any special powers?

I love pictures of polar bears, and this one is particularly engaging!

I love the colors, and the terror!

This is a highly symmetrical leaf! I love that the artist was confident not only in the usage of space on the page, but also in her description of the artwork.

What a cool technique - I love the texture the batik leaves on the artwork. I agree with the artist--I like the colors and the seeds, as well as the fine detail of the small orange petals around the middle of the sunflower.

It's hard not to love this guy with such a friendly expression adopted by his huge, pointy teeth. I love the color combination!

I love this landscape, and wish I could read a story about the people and creatures that would live here.

I really love the color palette in this piece! With the purples, I almost feel like this scene could be taking place under the sea as easily as in the rainforest. Beatiful, tall flowers!

This really reminds me of the super-cold weather we are having this winter...so cold it is purple! The one orange tree makes me have hope that warm spring will come again.

I am fascinated by this artwork. Why does a young lady, who has such nice hair and fashion, look so sad? Is her hair tangled? Is her shirt itchy? It really makes you think.

I really love the colors and the design on the bowl. The artist certainly has a way with color!

I am a big fan of the pattern on this bowl! I hope I can commission the artist to making a three-dimensional bowl like this for me!

This makes me smile. Is the person in the picture "dropping the mic"? It's really cool.

This makes me think of the tall buildings in Chicago, Illinois... I love that city. I really like the coloring of the sky with the dark buildings in front. Is this near sunset? The red sky is cool too!

I really love this work. The color selection is so vibrant, and it makes me want to have a Halloween party in a pumpkin patch!

I would argue that this pumpkin patch is among the most sincere I have seen. The leaves on the pumpkins are my favorite part, although the asterisk stars (as called by the artist) lend a sense of mystery and awe. It looks like someplace I wouldn't mind camping out for the night.
