A beautifully shaped vase with good proportions throughout the picture.

Light, bright colors fit the Spanish setting. It causes me to recall the "Man of La Mancha" who jousted with windmills. Thank you.

I love your composition and the color choices. So vibrant. Great detail work on the mustache and windmill! Love it!

What a beautiful display of colorful flowers that gives a ray of hope that spring will not be too far away once we reach the new year. The various sizes and shapes of the flowers blend so well together, and the colors are nicely balanced between the vivid red, pinks and oranges, and the bright blues and the softer aqua colors.

Hello Julianna! Your art work is so lovely. I am happy to see your attention to detail, love of color, craftsmanship, and inventive ideas.

This is a wonderful display of color that has brightened my day. It is so very different from your previous work, that it makes me think that your teacher is very good and is exposing you to many artistic techniques. I also notice that this piece almost shows to painting. On the left I see distinct forms, where as, on the right I see a burst of red, with a spattering of bits of blue. Very interesting.

This drawing looks good enough to be turned into a Christmas Card. The balance of the picture is great and the décor makes it look so very inviting that a fairy might want to move in. I also approve of the background, trees, moon and a few snow flakes. Very well done!

I feel movement and passion of a young girl dancing and working hard to perfect her moves. Her skirt is marvelous, as it moves and accents her activity. Very nicely done.

Hi Julianna, Your painting of the vikings is so well done in the way the ship and sail give the feeling of powerful movement through the waves. The colors of the sky in the background lend a feeling of uncertain weather conditions as the vikings continue on their journey.

This is a fine picture. I was attracted to the figure head, thinking at first, "It's a horse - no it a bearded dragon - I like it!. At first I thought that the three men were rowers, facing in the wrong direction. Then I saw the oars out of the water and realized that the men were relaxing as the wind blew the craft swiftly through the waves. The sky is most colorful, contrasting nicely with the blue sea. GOOD JOB!

I read your entire book and it is marvelous. I am impressed its originality and the creativeness that you've used in developing your characters. The imagination that you use to guide your artistic lessons is exceptional, as is the creation of your covers and the book's binding. You have done good work and I hope that you will carefully store it so that your own children will be able to see what you've been able to do.

Wonderful use of color on the front (Rose) window. Extra color added to the belfries that are normally dark and shadowy. Great detail on the cross and sculptured saints.

An excellent beginning of a Family Crest. I believe that this is your first experience painting on foil. The shiny metal base give life special character to the painting and your can even tool the backside to get raised letters. The two Js standout brightly. Next time you might like to experiment with ways to make the L as noticeable. Perhaps it could have been the same color as the Js, with the gold surrounding all three letters. Well done. I am looking forward to your next project.

I very much enjoyed you picture of a castle and it's enclosed village. The colors and textures are most interesting and the details of your windows and drawbridge are impressive. I also appreciate the detail of each roof, which show the individual tiles or shingles.

I am assuming that the picture of the wise men coming to pay homage to the baby Jesus was done with water colors. This gives a smooth pastel affect with muted tones. I feel the night sky and the quietness of the scene. Good job!

Hi Julianna ,Your nativity scene with the three kings in the foreground is very well arranged with the angels in the background. The colors are very well chosen to give the feeling of the light around the Holy scene on that special night. This would make a very beautiful Christmas card!Very well done!

I am again impressed with your art work and the maturity of your detail. There are pictures at the Art Institute that are no better! I particular, I like your bold colors and the subtle shading of the fruit and particularly, the pomegranate. The weave of the basket is in good contrast of texture, as is the milk bottle. Another good job.

Hi, Julianna, I am once again so impressed by your ability to create such awe-inspiring artwork! This piece is no exception. In it you have created a sense of wonder, joy and nostalgia. You have invoked these emotions by skillfully incorporating so many visual elements. First, I am struck by a sense of wonder as I gaze upon the majestic snowcapped mountains shimmering in the twilight with the tiniest of sparkling snowflakes. You have cast the mountains in such beautiful hues of purple and indigo; each with its unique pattern of ridges and crevices enhanced by the immense glow of the gigantic full moon. You have given the mountains such depth and strength. They remind me of God's strength and character. In addition, I am filled with a sense of joy as I see the jolly snowman decked out so merrily in his matching red mittens and scarf. With his black top hat and "carrot" nose I can imagine that he was fashioned by a cheerful family who carefully rolled the spheres of snow and worked happily together to give Mr. Snowman his endearing finishing touches. Oh, what a sense of joy you have created, also, by the beautifully decorated Christmas trees with treasures beneath them including gifts and a festive Yule log. To accentuate the joy you topped each tree with a stunning burst of star-shaped light. They resemble the bright star which led the Magi into the presence of Jesus who is the Light of the World. Finally, you have created a wonderful feeling of nostalgia. As I peer toward the lovely house I "feel" the warmth of so many Christmas holidays with my family. Your use of the glowing oranges, yellows with the red gingham entranceway as well as the creative wrap of the window and house in green and red Christmas bunting are a magnificent picture of the loving, caring home which is a gift from God. Julianna, once again you have shown your creativity and talent in a most incredible way! Thank you for sharing your artwork treasures with me and so many others!

I was impressed by your snow peaked "Majestic Purple Mountains". Even in the shadow of the sun, they are glorious. I was wondering how the snow man was made, as the lawn has no snow and the grass is still green. Perhaps it was a light snow and you used much of it to make the large snow man? The house looks very inviting and ready for Christmas and I notice that you evergreen trees glisten, as if they are illuminate by the Sun. Great work

Hi, Julianna, I am delighted to see a sample of your incredible artwork! Your creation of this floral masterpiece is astounding on so many levels. Let me touch on just a few. The delicacy with which you designed each petal is so lovely. Add to that the variety of shapes and textures given to the petals! Wow. As if that were not to demonstrate your artistic gifts you blended some of the same or similar colors into the various flowers while showcasing a predominant color. For example, your exquisite predominantly orange flowers seem to have a hint of pink while your predominantly pink flowers seem to have a wash of orange. This makes the floral portrait come together. Lastly, you showcased the bright yellow flower by its central placement. What a treasure for the eyes! It reminds me of the Light of the World, Jesus. When placed at the center of our lives He causes all of the beauty within to be seen by others. I know that your parents must be so proud of you and grateful for the wonderful gift you share with others!

Dear Julianna, I enjoyed your beautiful art with the lovely colorful flowers. The variety of colors reminded me of many gardens I have had in my lifetime, also that while winter is coming that spring will not be far behind.

I have wondered just what Poseidon looked like. I notice that you have shown his eyes to be very special. Is this so that he can see under water, or for long distances. I also noted the 'school of fish' on his left side, with one fish on the right. Is this significant? The frame is well decorated and I like having his name on it.

I believe that this is a second view of the same Greek ship that was shown earlier. I also appreciate the high angle from which this picture was taken that shows more clearly the interior of the boat and its occupant.

Wow! This ship looks ready to sail the seven seas. I also like your use of the several blue colors. They give the feeling of a warm sea on a clear day and they coordinate beautifully. I will be looking for your next contribution to may art education.

I really like the advanced way you have of showing the Greek temple. It looks to me like we are looking at the temple through a window and that there is a Greek vase sitting in the window sill. As green is my favorite color, I like the beautiful lawn and the clear blue sky beyond. These colors go together wonderfully.

The bright colours of these happy hummingbirds make mummy think of GreatGrammy and her GrampaRing. We spend many hours looking at these birds in the garden at their feeders through their glass door. Your picture makes mummy fondly remember that magic. we need to look at hummingbirds together. I love the magic you created.

Julianna: I immediately recognized the Greek Parthenon that you drew. I have been to Greece three times and taken many pictures, but because of all the damage that has been done to it over 2000 years, your picture is clearer that the real thing. In particular, I liked your horses. The original sculptures were removed and sent to London England and are now in the British Museum. (Your mother saw them there when she I went to London.) Keep up the fine work, Grandpa Lawson
