Henry This picture of the singing snowmen made me smile! Even without seeing the notes, I knew they were singing - that ability to depict a feeling is a real talent. I also like the way you showed shading. We need to talk about your art next time we are together. -- Nana

Henry Oh Wow! Another Van Gogh inspired piece of art - this makes me so happy. Did you know that he painted two versions of this same view? One when he was younger he called "Starry Night Over the Rouen" and the later, wilder version, he painted when he was in poor health and was in a mental hospital and that was called "Starry, Starry Night". Papa and I saw both of those original paintings at a special show in downtown Chicago at the Art Institute a few years ago. I have some Van Gogh posters that we got at the museum and several books of his art - we will show them to you the next time you come to California. I love you and miss you -- Nana

Henry I don't know if you know this but I am a quilter - that means I cut up fabric into different shapes, sew them together, make a sandwich of them with a warm filling and then quilt them together by sewing by hand. This piece of your art reminds me very much of something called an art quilt. What a gift you have for expressing yourself through art! I'm very proud of you -- Nana

My Henry I love that I can see your artwork this way. I am a big fan of the artist Van Gogh and I can see his influence i your art. Maybe the next time I'm in Chicago, we can go downtown to the Art Institute and see some of his paintings together. -- Nana
