Very interesting piece. The colors and their textures are artfully combined to blend well together. There's remarkable consistency of rhythm throughout ... More yang than yin. But the most interesting thing is the transparent section with faint patterns underneath and written numbers and lines on top as though you were in the process of creation. Most intreaguing. Hi Evie, I love the technique you used to bring the turtle forward with outlines while the coral & seaweed is in the background without outlines. But your technique of blocks of color everywhere is also a unifying feature that pulls the whole piece of artwork together. The pink coral and yellow sand helps balance and unify the work so the turtle isn't swimming in a sea of nothing interesting. I love the bright and separate colors. And, as always, I love the magical things that happen accidentally with water and paint. You might try sprinkling some salt on your paper when the colors are still wet. See what happens. Try using a sponge or paper towel. There are a lot of fun accidents that can happen with color. Try a toothbrush too. It's fun. -- William
