Nice job Eli! You have a good eye for colors and how they work together. I love your careful work. Gramma

Wow Eli, this is really pretty. The shapes that you drew look just like they were cut glass. You were careful to get the curved side of the outer points all facing the same direction to make it like a pinwheel. I love the flower in the center! Very unique expression of the color wheel - full of motion and detail in the spokes. I love it - and would hang in in a window to enjoy.

I can see that you put in some time and effort to entirely cover this page. Your geological theme is effectively stated in this style and is consistent from top to bottom. This is a unique landscape with depth and motion. The plant at the lower corner is raising it's limbs to honor the sun setting in the dark afternoon sky. The colors graduate in a striking way to the top plains warmed by the sun. This should be in a museum - and it is - in Eli's are museum on Artsonia!

This creature reminds me of a song I used to listen to call the Purple People eater. That little purplish guy had better run! Very detailed and imaginative work!

This joyful circle is like a flower in the sunlight. I want to pick it and put it in a vase on my table. Nice choice of colors both cool and warm. Or maybe the circle could be a beautiful accent rug in my garden room. It makes me smile inside!

This would be a great wall hanging for the fall season. The firey frame in red, orange and yellow effectively echos the flaming leaf. I see shades of blue sky and green grass in the background - in a blinking effect as the swirling leaf floats down. This is an action packed and unique piece. I love it.

You were good at this stitchery because you did a sewing project with your rust dyed fabric in 4-H. I think the yellow button tells me to let my light shine - see the rays all around it in in yellow? Circling the rays is a solid orangish line which is dynamic. Your last row of blue stitches are really even and equally sized which makes a fence for the action packed lines inside. I like the way you did vertical and diagonal red stitches for contrast in the outer layer. Super artistic. Super symbolism. Super imagery!

Oh, Elijah - this snowman is soooo cute! I like the way he is positioned on the corner angle. Another super job - you have quite an artistic touch! Have you ever laid down on the snow and looked up at a snowman you have built?

Your steaming hot cup of cocoa looks delicious - I would like some on this cold winter day. I love the design you made on the cup too. The background and yellow table cloth just add joy to the picture. You should be drawing advertisements for Starbucks - who wouldn't be attracted to buying a cup of the featured cocoa with floating marshmallows? Yum!

YUMMY! Just what I needed on a cold winter's day. I can almost smell the sweet cocoa. Good job. Gramma

Nice job E. I can see your personality in each piece of your name. Good job buddy!

I see how unhappy this snowman is feeling due to the windy day causing his hat to sail away. I know just how he feels as our windsock blew away with the cold windy gale we had a few nights ago. We see a look of frustration that he can't even chase his hat down the street since he is frozen to the ground! I like all the swirls that show how hard the wind is blowing. Your frame is artistic too with the snowman figure standing in front to give dimension and depth. You are quite an artist, and I see a similar style in several of your third grade art works.

I like all the variety you did in the lines. I also like the unity created with the yellow lines that had the same pattern. You did a good job of going right off the page with the outside green, yellow on the top and bottom. Your continuation of their designs off the page and resuming it where it would have been is awesome. I have always liked your wonderful name, and it whispers a river of hope and good will as it waves across the page. You are that hope and good will in our lives, and we love you very much. - Oma

Oh Elijah! Congratulations. This is a winner. Wow. So many of our friends and family all over the United States and way over in Africa voted for you. The colors and design work in this mitten are outstanding. The magnified snowflake caught by the mitten is delicate like lace. Thank you for taking such care to create this special piece of art. Your Aunt Loretta and her whole class voted for you. Loretta makes mittens to sell from worn out wool sweaters. She really loved your picture! So do I. Oma (Miriam)

Eli - This eyeball is quite ominous! I made a reverse photo of this piece and put it with a [photo of the original to look like two eyes watching. It is a perfect Halloween decoration! Oma

Eli - your artistic impression reminds me of you. The ripples in your picture just keep going to the right and off the page. Your personality is much the same....the positive effects of your winning smile and caring attitude ripple on and on in the right direction and affect all those who know, see and hear you! Always remember the power you have to create joy and good will! This is a gift!

These tulips are sweet and simple - just like they grow in my yard. You know two lips are Opa's favorite flower!! Guess whose two lips??

These warm hearts really warm my heart. Your overlapping of the small heart in the big one is marvelous. I love the background too - lots of interest but not overpowering the orange centerpiece. What a fantastic piece. Save this one for framing!

I love gardens under the sea. This seahorse shows curiosity in the transparent jellyfish swimming by. Your placement of the seaweed and rocks gives balance to the scene. I like the fact that you colored in one direction in the various sections of the sea and sand. That is skillful coloring! The darker shade of blue you used for the sea tells me it is very deep and dark down there. I like the way you placed seaweed behind the seahorse - who blocks some of the weed from being seen - very realistic!

Jumping for joy - a happy dance for sure! Is that a light on the monkey's head - if so, he is letting his little light shine all around the neighborhood, just like you do!!

I love flowers and butterflies! The colors of the tissue paper center are just melting from one to the next for a cool effect. You echoed these colors in the surrounding lines. Very effective.

What did you color over to get the fabulous textured print? This is so interesting. I can see taking this beach ball to the swimming pool to play keep away!

The colors you chose for this still life painting are striking. The rosy and green apples look good enough to snatch one out and take a bite. The neutral background makes the beautiful pottery bowl just pop! I like the fact that we see part of one apple waiting on the table. That gives the painting energy! Will the apple on the edge be eaten or placed in the bowl, that is the question?

Opa said "Beautiful!" - - it reminds him of the sandhills with a refreshing stream of water flowing through a green valley. Your great-grandpa had a cattle herd on land like this. Thanks for the colorful landscape.

All God's critters got a place in the choir - some sing low, some sing higher, some sing out loud on the telephone wire! (like these little birds)

This reminds me of the morning you woke up early and crawled in to listen for birds to sing. At the very moment we got quiet the radio alarm went off! We laughed and laughed - and I am sure the birds would have been astonished!

Eli, your rainbow birds look so happy singing. I love the way you varied the height of each bird. It looks like they are all watching the director! nice work. gramma

Eli - This time you used interesting shapes to tell the story. The valentine eyes are dear, and the box nose is comical. You sure can draw good bow ties! The listening ears make me want to meet him and hear his story! Oma

Eli - Your valentine animal seems to say "I've got this!" Yes this character is confident that someone loves him. The bow tie is just perfect, and the off center smile is so fitting! Thanks for making me smile! Oma

Eli - this little valentine bunny just totally says "I love you!" Her heart cheeks underneath those long eyelashes are just precious. She makes me smile and think about sweet times with each other. How pleasant! Oma

This huge dinosaur that towers over cars and trucks is dwarfed by the tall buildings in your city. I think he is totally bewildered finding himself in this situation. He has stopped short in his tracks at the edge of the picture. You gave emotion to the picture by filling the whole background with buildings. What a great idea! Oma

Eli, I see you have learned how to do some shading to make the snowman appear more round and real. You have a great feeling for expressive faces. I think the ear muffs or headphones make your snowman unique. I think he is saying, "Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!" Your choice of bright red mittens gives this guy personality and zing! Is that his shadow on the snow? Does it say there will be six more weeks of winter? I'm sure he hopes so! Oma

Elijah Here is another example of your creative spirit. I am impressed by the strong building, and I am intrigued with the amazing use of texture in all the details you included. I am reminded of a church and a steeple with a yellow bell in the tower. I love your green touch of plants in front and the sidewalk that leads right off the page. The pattern in the sky adds another interesting directional detail. What a fascinating piece. The open door invites me in to visit your building.

There is a sweetness between these two little heart shapes. I can almost imagine they are rubbing noses like the Eskimos do. I am reminded of little pink fish or pretty butterflies of summer. I enjoy the images of affection and gentleness.

Elijah you have done a wonderful piece of art in this castle. The vibrant colors and geometric shapes combine in a very effective way. I would like to visit your castle and have a tea party with the queen. Your detail of adding flags on the peaks is especially neat. I can tell that the wind is coming from the left as all the flags furl out to the right. Thanks for this imaginative picture.
