Nice job Sophia. It looks like the city where I grew up. Just wall to wall buildings and no grass or trees. Thank for reminding me of my roots.

What a great city you created, Sophia. Places to live, shop, read, eat and relax, in walking distance from each other! You can even set out by air for other adventures. I love it! Maybe you should consider being a City Planner when you grow up. Love you!

Beautiful, Sophia. I looked up whether there are owls where we are now and found this: Africa is home to more than 30 species of owl including some that eat fish. As in Asia, new species are still being discovered. There is evidence of owls in Africa going back to the time of the Ancient Egyptians, including tomb paintings and mummified remains. Wow!

Very nice work, Sophia. It must have taken you a VERY long time to draw all those stones. Gram and I visited a castle a few months ago that looked just like the one you have drawn. Have your mom or dad google the word “Carcasonne” and you will see what the castle looks like. Keep up the great artwork!

Hi Sophia! This is a great project! You've captured the feeling of the desert with your background of browns and blues and purples, and your ram's head and horns are so cool; the way you shaded the horns in really gives them a feeling of 3-D, and the shape and coloring of the skull are perfect; I love it.. Georgia O'Keefe would smile if she could see your work. Speaking of Georgia O'Keefe, there is a museum in Santa Fe, New Mexico that is dedicated completely to her work, with changing exhibits several times a year, so there is often different things to see. Aunt Nancy and I have been there many times, and it is amazing. The last time we were there - last summer - the whole museum was all about 'Becoming Georgia O'Keefe' and described how her early interest in painting and drawing grew and evolved over the years. It was fascinating! I hope that you get the chance to see it sometime; I know that you'd really like it. Next time Aunt Nancy and I are there, I will be thinking of you. Your art work is just terrific; I hope that you and your mom and dad will keep your portfolio of all the things that you create over the many years of becoming the artist that is within you! Miss you and love you!

Sophia - This is awesome! I love how your tree of life is pushing out on the edges of the paper, like it's wanting to keep growing and growing and can't be contained! It's beautiful; I think the gold on the gold background is cool, and I like the butterflies and the colored flowers and limb that you added. And, I can't forget the squiggly lines at the bottom, which reminded me of what you learned in your previous project. You are fantastic!
-- Uncle Rich

Sophia - Cool project! I can tell that you were paying attention to the teacher when she was teaching about different kinds of lines. You've got curvy ones, pointy ones, squiggly ones, round ones, oval ones, long ones and short ones. And of course, great colors! The sun looks like it's shining so bright that he (or she) is wearing sunglasses! And smiling! Love it!

Sophia - This is a great still-life of flowers in a vase; I love it! I love the great colors you use in your paintings; you are so talented! Sunflowers are some of my favorite flowers - they are so colorful and big! I lived in Kansas for two years, and Aunt Nancy grew up in Kansas, and Kansas' nickname is 'The Sunflower State', and the sunflower is the state flower. So, your painting brings lots of warm memories to my mind, which makes me very happy.
