Very interesting piece here, Journey! All the compartments, and food and clothes item and people make me think of a department store, and I see a pet there, too... so that must be the pet department! Gifts, and waste baskets and arrows for direction and aisles and purses, You are a great shopper with an eye for detail! It reminds me of so much more than just what it seems, too - a good eye for design makes the composition so interesting! I even like the absence of color (except for certain places where it shows up as in red and purple.) Good job, Journey!

You know, as an avid scuba diver, I am enjoying this one, Journey! You've got lush green above-sea elevations and a majestic mountain, as well as under the sea, fish and coral life - big and small! You have pillar coral with sea dwellers all around it, including tiny red crabs with waiting claws as mighty pinchers for food! A smiling sea star in the sandy bottom and a jellyfish, too! I notice a (usually) very deep sea dweller, the angler fish, wearing a happy face and lure above it's eyes, to trap live food. This one has come up for a shallow visit! (They are generally very mean and grumpy looking so, I like your happy version!) Is that a shark, too, (gray with gills)? All the happiness and joy beneath the sea describes how I feel every time I'm on SCUBA! This must have been fun to draw and color!

Love the combination of black & white photos, hand writing and printing, and stamps across a vividly painted surface. The torn envelope... a beautiful assemblage of meaning! Bravisimo!

I love this piece, Journey, including your most recent 3-4 art pieces. In this one, the pastel, light, background color, the overlay of your note over class listings and enscribed blue paint covering most of the lower right hand corner that further accentuates your note (which I wish I could actually read!) But, nevertheless, this is truly interesting!

You have been very busy keeping up with your lessons and creating this great piece of art. It reminds of an abstract version of the Chicago skyline...all the skyscrapers and the lake. Great job!! Keep up the good work, Journey!

Journey... I am sure I commented on this one (in the past), for I likened it very much to your clay dish that also held a similar rainbow of colors. (Because of that, I was surprised to read there were "no comments" on this piece) - made by me. I truly like this sculpture! It changes every time I look at it, too. Before, I may have seen a colony of (underwater?) creatures - like little sprites of sea life, or corals beneath the sea. Today, I definitely see petunias and spring bulbs blooming! Great work - to let viewers see what they see.

I see that you continue to be creative at home, Journey, as all true artists do! And what better than to draw than your own imaginary house with all that you need in life, bright sunshiny weather , healthy green grasses, plenty of back yard to play; plenty of front yard to greet friends, fence security, an apple tree bountiful with fruit, an entry door, and windows to an eternally blue sky! If you meant to draw the window panes like holy crosses, that is an extra special Divine touch! (At least, that's how I view your beautiful and happy house). Keep on drawing! I love seeing what you do "artistically!"

Journey, this is beautiful. It looks like such a nice day...a very happy painting. Love the skylight in the roof!!!

I can surely see the Picasso "influence" in this art piece, Journey! A modern woman's portrait seen in full face view, plus profile, all at one time. I see she is wearing a string of pearls, and enjoy the contrast you provided there, too (ie; purple beads on the yellow and yellow on yellow. Your pencil drawing beneath shows through (which I happen to like!) It's purposeful and energetic! Ah! I see she is wearing a purple earring on one side and a yellow on yellow earring on the other side. Nice!

Those marker etchings, little critters and words on purple paper, around the composition, are as intriguing as the 3-D colored noodle "sculpture" itself. This adds a lot of interest. It all works together, as a whole, my talented young cousin.

IF I would want this artwork printed on a hot chocolate mug, I think a Portrait layout would be better than landscape... unless the artist (Journey) says this is the way it should be shown. Thank you.

Should this scratchboard painting be placed in the portrait style (in lieu of landscape?) That said, this one is fantastic! It's truly energizing and fun to study; with orange, blue-grey and green roll marks (and the black, well-etched center) set on bright pink! I can see how much you enjoy your art classes!

Another great piece of artwork, Journey...love it!!!

Journey, the colors in this remind me of "Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat"! Truly outstanding! Plus! I see a "re-occurring expression" in this and a watercolor of the past which you painted (showing a center "eye," of sorts; a focal point). That's great! Did you repeat that, theme, intentionally? This coiled art project is heavy with color and "wow" factor! Keep up the good work! Please keep having fun expressing yourself through art!

Journey says she would have her robot: clean up after me, play with my dog, and get me snacks! -- Jeremy

I like the bright repetitive colors and way the artist draws with the medium of watercolors. Bold and supercharged with confidence! -- Etola

As a longtime member of Journey508's Fan Club, I applaud you once again on your clever Big Robot collage! The eyes are very unique indeed, but I'm mesmerized! (Looks like the doll is controlling it from a main panel, too). What is are just 3 things you'd have your big robot do for you in a day, Journey? I'd have it grocery shop for me, do all my organizing in my home studio, and build me more storage. -- Etola

Love your butterfly, Journey! It is unique and detailed ever so subtly! The pink and tan striped body with pink "eyes" on the wing are splendid! (I realize, those are not really its eyes, but this is the way nature is! So much beauty)! Set on a lime green background makes your butterfly really stand out, too! I suspect it carries little garden fairies on its wings! -- Etola

Love your color palette, a subtle "cross" pattern and all the abstract movement in this piece, Journey. Your style is more refined here. I do so love your caligraphic line work (ask your mom or dad what the word "caligraphy" means) dancing across the page. The lines appear as if they're words written across a page in a letter. "Crazy creature", indeed! I notice you've commented on your artwork, like the last piece, saying only one word: "Joule." -- Etola

Excuse me! I just realized the title of Journey's piece here: "Joule". I hadn't noticed it before. Still imaginative, this piece speaks happily and well of her young, bright and active sister, and maybe their relationship! Nice job, Journey! -- Etola

Love this one too! Journey is my favorite artist in the 21st century! What a fun project - these woven strips in brown paper have become the brightest shapes dancing on paper! Gives me an overall happy feeling! Hats? Boats? Sails? Signs? A furniture warehouse.... multiple chairs or just cool graphic shapes? Your imagination has made mine (happily) soar! -- Etola

This busy collage of woodland creatures of flight and feather, spider legs, bird legs and limbs speak loudly of a young artist (you!) who sees all the details in her own, big back yard! All kinds of birds on the top of the hill and some flying off into the sky! Great attention to detail and shape and placement, Journey! In fact, two birds are hopping right out onto the picture frame! Love it! -- Etola

I LOVE THIS!! Wonderful color scheme. -- Carol

Sweet! This speaks to me! It says: Why should silhouettes be boring? Can they be different in size? Can I fill the picture frame with them, leaving just enough free space to breathe and ponder? Can I paint the silhouettes from different viewpoints? Can I make them fun, fiery ...maybe even fancy in some places? Yes! Of course I can! And so you blazed ahead Journey, and produced your own ideas - like magic on paper, once again! -- Etola

Lovely pot of flowers, bordered with purple, in this colored paper collage, Journey! The bright yellow pot itself with heart, circle and crown shapes running vertically, is similar to the vertical green stems of the flowers. The bit of white along the edge and over one whole flower, makes me think these are "just- picked" spring flowers; slightly wet with the fading winter snow. Hello springtime! Within the flowers are those cool cut out shapes again! Design is repetition and you surely understand that theory, my sweet cousin! Bravo! -- Etola

Another wonderful "Journey" original! Loving this expressive, colorful story, a lot! I like the yellow and brown "stamp" effects! You seem to know exactly how much of each color to use! Those white marks (like dots) are effective too, as well as the letter forms at the top. -- Etola

Very interesting indeed! Looks awesome on a mug! You've filled the paper with all your "marks" and your colors and your emotions (that day)! The orange bands and blue bands and intense pink.... all packed with energy, the black slashes mean business! Somehow, the brown mark (with all those stab marks, or dots) work to make this meaningful too! Journey, what goes through your mind when you are painting!?? Keep expressing yourself, please! I love it! -- Etola

Gives me a sense of dread ... that snowman is not very happy... maybe because it isn't snowing too much this winter? He looks a little sad and confused but hopeful! His hat sits askew on his head, matching the uncertainty on his face. For me, it speaks of consistency and purpose. Not all snowmen must be happy. Looks like a storm might be brewing too! Mr. Snowman hopes it's a SNOW storm, and not a rain storm. I really like how you have placed his face, and his big orange carrot nose, including the little hash marks around his hat. Gives the collage some energy and movement! Yes, I think the North wind might be stirring! "Watch out Mr. Snowman!" -- Etola

Love this one, Journey! Nice placement of images and color, plus I like the negative space around them, too! Not sure if you did that purposely, but it works! Bright neon colors remind me a bit of Andy Warhol! Have your dad show you some of the art of Andy Warhol and see if you understand what I mean. Keep drawing and painting and printing! You're good! -- Etola
