This is an interesting, complicated piece of art. I like the way the colors accent the design. It looks like it would make a good Xmas ornament. ?? -- Debbie

Kees, I really like this. Your artwork made me think about what it must be like for many people coming to our country for the first time. I imagine a young child on a ship, who has left his country to come to the US with his family, hoping for a better future, but a little scared, not knowing what to expect. And out of the dark appears an amazing statue welcoming him and his family. Not only that, it happens to be the 4th of July, and the citizens are so proud of their country they are celebrating with fireworks.
