Well, it looks like you have a workable soap-dish anyway. Glazes really change in the kiln, don't they!? The only way to end-up with what you want is to keep trying and learning which materials do what you want them to do. Isn't clay the coolest? You start with pliable mud and end-up with stone.

This is a very interesting collaborative work; it would be even better if you photographed it against a quiet, neutral background - a large sheet of cardboard would work, or even the sky.
