Well it certainly made me laugh. You must have spent a lot of time writing all the words and drawing and coloring all the characters. Great job Kinley

Kinley--What an interesting way to drop a rainbow--with corners instead of curves! I love the dreamy, wavy colors at the bottom, and the little brown creature crawling up the left side. Love, Nana

You've chosen strong, powerful colors that complement each other really well. I love the variety of shapes and the colors peeking through and overlapping each other. I can't wait to see what masterpieces second grade will bring. Love, Nana

Kinley-- I love how the colors swirl around each other and across the page. I like how bright yellow appears on the left edge, and then pops up under a blue arch near the top. Tell me sometime which colors you used first. Do you have a name for this piece? Love, Nana

Dear Kinley, I really like this piece of art. You create a similar painting with gray swirls in the center, which was very swoopy and had a lot of MOVEMENT to it. The swoops made me think of wind. In this one, you used black dots and gold dots, which made me think of raindrops and hale. You are a fine artist, Kinley. Maybe sometime we could paint together on the back porch. Love, Nana.

Kinley, this is very interesting to me. I remember a similar piece of art that had grayish swirls in the center, and this one has gold and dark gray or black dots. I like looking at your artwork a lot. It "pulls me in"—which means that I want to keep looking and looking, and that I keep seeing interesting parts. For example, how colors swirl around other colors. Or how bright pink pops up in one place, and then in two other places. You are a fine artist. Love, Nana

The first thing I thought of when I saw this picture was that all the rectangles were Christmas presents wrapped in ribbon and flying into the house! What an amazing picture! Love, Nana

Kin...This Cheetah is AWESOME! Do you know that the Cheetah is my favorite animal? Do you also know that I once out-ran a Cheetah? Ask your mom...she was there. The race wasn't filmed but it happened.

Kinley. I like so many things about this picture. The cheetah looks SO REAL. And the grass looks long and tangled, like it would be where cheetahs live. I like that some of the picture has spots and some has lines and some has zig-zags. Love, Nana

What an interesting collection of lines! The zigzag line at the top must have taken a lot of time, since you had to change the color of the marker each time and match up the points so carefully. I bet the loopy ones were fun to make. Love, Nana

Kinley -- Some day when you are at my house, tell me about the big blue circle in this picture. The little thing on the left side looks like a nose! I wonder what this is about. I'd like to hear your story behind it. Love, Nana

Kinley, I've really enjoyed seeing your art this fall. The one with the red house was especially wonderful to me, because when your mom was in kindergarten, she lived in a red house. Ask her about it. Your picture helped me remember that. This picture makes me imagine what it would be like if snow and rain were a beautiful blue color, so when it rains or snows, everything, EVERYTHING would be blue! Love, Nana
