Hi, Arlo, You probably already know that this kind of working is called "collage". You might enjoy asking your mom to look up some of Matisse's "cut-outs", which he did later on in his life. They are very colourful and exciting. When he became really old he would point with his stick and have his assistants glue down the pieces of paper where he wanted them. Arlo, your landscape is just wonderful. The blue of the sky is as brilliant and engaging as Vincent van Gogh's "Starry Night" (do look it up on your mom's computer). Arlo, this is just a fabulous piece of work. It reminds me of a VERY important Japanese Woodprint called The Great Wave off Kanagawa.
