Henry: Great picture! I think one of the artistic beauties of closeup photography is that the viewer can be encouraged to see details of an object that are not apparent to the unaided eye and might otherwise be missed. In the case of your photo here of a baseball, you have done a good job of focusing so one can better appreciate the texture and stitching. It is interesting to me how you’ve managed to emphasize the stretching of the thread holes. I find it interesting too that you have used the wavy pink line as evidence of other modifications to the original photo. In that regard, please let me know if you have changed the color of the thread from red to lavender. All in all this is a very interesting piece. I love photography. Let’s talk about this subject. This is fun to look at Henry!! Thanks for doing it! Seeing this on a cold winter day makes me think about spring and watching you sock some balls. Please keep on drawing, and if you ever have something you are thinking of throwing out, I'd like a chance to see it first. The baseball stitching is a small point that adds realism to your art. Did you know that all Major League baseballs are hand sewn by people in the country of Costa Rica? Each worker sews about 4 balls per hour, about 40 per day. (So, how many hours per day do baseball sewers work?) Workers are paid about 30¢ for each ball they make. If you go to the store to buy one of these balls, they charge around $15 each. Who gets all that profit? The ball is originally pure white, but before it is used the ball is rubbed in a special (and secret) mud which gives it an off-white color. Thank you for sharing your art Henry! You are a man of many talents. I'm so happy you are having such a great experience building your brain at the "Brain Factory"! Love, Papa :) -- Tom
