Very interesting...do I see earrings in her ears? Two horns...does that make her a doublicorn? All those pretty white teeth: does she bite? You did a great job, Ellie. Lots of details...Grandma Linda

Looking at your artwork I can see... a flower, I can see a family sitting around a table, and the tail of a big, fat turkey fanned out wide. It is fun looking at your creative design and letting my imagination run...what other things do you see, Ellie? I love seeing your artwork. Grandma Linda

Ellie, you've done it again...great artwork. To me, it looks like alligators frolicking and having a good time in the "big city." Those buildings in the background sure have a lot of windows! I wouldn't want to be the window washer there. Keep doing art this summer. You are so good at it. Love, Grandma Ann

I really love those colors together...when I look at this piece of artwork I see the different shapes you used in creating it...squares in the background, lots of circles on the top for accents. The white and black really stands out. Those squiggly shapes remind me of snakes, the round shapes....bicycles. Grandma Linda

Ellie, you continue to do such fantastic art work. I sure like this latest one. The girl has such pretty green eyes, just like you. I like her smile, too. I sure enjoyed seeing all of your classmates' art on display when I was your "special person." Love, Grandma Ann

Self-portraits are tough; you did a great job Ellie. I like the details...eye brows and lashes and especially your birthmark. I'm trying to decide...do you have a polka dot top or dress on? Or is it covered with sparkly sequins? Keep drawing, Ellie!

That's a really awesome heart...I love all the different colors you used. Which of the colors is your favorite? I think for me it would be the blue...it really seems to stand out. Good job, Miss Ellie! Grandma Linda

This is very interesting. When I look at it I think of a puzzle and wonder what directions you can give me to help me figure it out. Is my goal to get to the center of that red mass? I think using the different shapes and colors was very creative, Ellie!

Your panda looks so soft and fluffy...I want to run my fingers through his fur. I'm sure his coat keeps him nice and warm when it's cold out. Another great piece of artwork, Ellie!

Ellie, I can't believe you drew this pelican. What a terrific job! I love it! You are really talented, for sure! Everything about the picture looks perfect. It looks like he is waving to me, and he looks happy...like you are most of the time. Love, Grandma Ann P.S. Grandpa Joe REALLY likes the picture.

I like your penguin...she's so black. Did you use construction paper on her body? And it's snowing...but she won't get cold with that pink and purple stocking hat.

Wow Ellie....neat drawing and with so much detail. I love the stepping stones and you even put curtains on your upstairs windows....are they bedrooms? You started with popsicle sticks and look at the amazing house you made them into. Grandma Linda

Ellie, your picture of the house is fantastic! It reminds me of my grandma's house in Grinnell. I like how the stepping stones leading to the house make it look very welcoming. I also like the pretty flowers and the big, bright sun which brings warmth to the picture. Keep up the good work. You are quite an artist!

Now that is a BIG pumpkin...it really fills up that wagon. It will take awhile to crave it. What kind of face will you put on it ? Halloween is coming soon....have fun! Grandma Linda

Wow, Ellie, what a huge pumpkin! I like the red wagon, and the wheels and handle that's used to carry that big pumpkin. Maybe next year you can grow some pumpkins. I think your yard is big enough, don't you? Your artwork is incredible! Love, Grandma Ann

Even though sculptures are made with items that are not alive, I see lots of movement and life in your project. It's really unique...for some reason it made me think of grasshoppers and crickets. Am I silly or am I using my imagination too? Great job, Ellie!!!

Really a neat drawing, Ellie! Do you think Pochahatas used a blanket like that to sit on or to keep warm? What do you think she used to make the different colors? Berries, flowers or roots from different plants? We'll have to look that up.
