Porter, I love seeing your art work and would love to hear more from you about the story . I used to read this story to my first graders!!! I love the patterns and colors the illustrator used. You used some of the same in your piece. I have just read another story called, "The Inventions of Wings" in which the art form of making quilts was used to remember and pass down family stories. It is an adult book with the same idea. Art can actually help an artist express their feelings as well as remember a story. I love that you are an artist and hope to see so much more of your works through this great website. Thanks for inviting me. You might want to add Uncle Matt and Aunt Joan to your list.
