Sam, your recent art project “tool“ is most interesting. I’m trying to figure out what technique you used. It looks as though the hammer is elevated, like a 3-D effect. The colors are so vivid and your rendering of a simple object is super cool! The next time I pick up my hammer, I will remember your interpretation of this tool! Great job! Love, Grandma Karen

Sam, I love this picture. I am going to get a copy of this for my house. I love the cool colors and the interesting way you made the hammer almost seem that it is floating in the air. I bet it took a lot of work ? I know that you work very diligently and the results show it. Great Job !!

Sam, What a vibrant painting of these fall leaves! I am impressed with the techniques you used to make the brilliant colors of the leaves stand out from the more subtle color of the background. You have made the majesty of fall come alive in this artistic work! Love, Grammy

Sam, you always impress me with your beautiful artwork, and this watercolor piece is no exception. What struck me most was the intensity of the colors and the “movement” of the piece. The focal point to me was the center and everything (the leaves) radiated outward. It was like a fireworks display with a brilliant burst of orange in a radiant blue sky! Great work, Sam! Love, Grandma Karen

Sam... I love this artwork? When I look at it, it reminds me of Superman, which is what i think of you! I can tell that you took a lot of time to make the "S" similar to the border. Well done! Keep up the great work. love grandpa

Sam, I wanted to tell you how much I enjoy this work. It looks 3 dimensional.. I bet it was a lot of work to do that? I love the way you put the colors together and the way they all blend together. The stalk looks especially real. I like the fact that this picture is different form other pictures you have done. You did a great job. Love grandpa

Sam, I love your beautiful picture of pumpkins. I am sure it took you a long time to do this. I especially like the way you shaded the pumpkins , which makes them look even more real. Also, the detail in the sticks under the pumpkins, was well done. Is this going to be another work of art that travels the country? keep up the good work. Love grandpa.

Sam, this painting really caught my eye! First, I noticed that bright orange of the three different-sized pumpkins. My eye then was drawn downward to the green grass and straw. Lastly, I looked upward to that brilliant blue sky. What impressed me was that the painting was definitely divided into three areas, yet all of them were combined to make a beautiful fall harvest scene! Well done!

Sam, those apples look so realistic that I want a bite of one of them! You have used many different shapes in this piece, like ovals, circles, and geometric angles. The colors are also a very interesting mix of shades and densities. Great job! Love, Grandma Karen

Sam, I am so impressed with the many elements on which you needed to focus to make this picture look so realistic. Using colored pencils to create the detail on the apples and the watercolors for the muted colors on the table made an inviting picture. You have real artistic flair! Love, Grammy

Wow, Sam, your new piece of artwork is a "riot" of color. The fun of abstract art is that you really don't know what the piece represents. When I first looked at it, it reminded me of an eye, but today it looks like it might be a seed in a pod ready to burst and start growing! Maybe tomorrow I will see something else in it! It is fun to look at, so keep up the good work! Love, Grandma Karen

Hi Sam, It's amazing how you have used various shapes, of different sizes and colors,to create this abstract art work. The fun thing about abstract works is that the viewer can use her imagination to interpret what she sees. The first thing that I saw (at the top of the picture) was the head of a pelican or toucan with his long bill! Perhaps when I look at it another time I will see something quite different. This is an awesome creation by Sam! Love, Grammy

Hi Sam- I am so impressed with all the steps that you needed to think about and accomplish in order to create such a realistic picture of apples. It must be amazing to see your work become increasingly lifelike as each step is completed. I love the vivid colors that you used- the deep red of the apples against the bright blue plate. Way to go!! Love, Grammy

Sam, I love this beautiful picture of a plate of apples . They look so realistic . I especially like the way you did the shading that make the apples look like they are right in front of me. In fact, I might just eat one. I can tell that you put a lot of effort in this picture , as you do with everything you do. Keep up the excellent work ! Love grandpa.

Sam, When I look at the face of the bear you have created I am immediately drawn to his eyes. They seem to be so focused on something that has drawn his complete attention. I find myself wondering what that could be. You have created wonder-I think that's what great artists do!!!!! Love, Grammy

Hi Sam- It must have been exciting to look at the cottonwood branch, create it in your mind, and then see it appear on the paper! Using the layers of different shades of color makes the sky seem so realistic! In the deep blue of the sky and the bright orange of the leaves you have designed a work of beauty! Love, Grammy

Dear Sam, I absolutely LOVE your snowman. He looks so excited with his arms stretched high into the sky. He must be so glad to see the snowflakes falling and to know that he won't be melting away soon! Also, the bright red scarf that you have tied around his neck, puts him into the Christmas spirit! I am looking forward to seeing more of your creative artwork. Love, Grammy
