You have done well with this challenging subject Kate. It takes practice to get things right and so use your eyes when you are waiting for the school bus , for example, to look at the lines on buildings. You can use your fingers to show which way the top of a wall and the bottom of the wall gradually come together. I really like the way you darkened the negative space behind the cylinders.Keep on enjoying your art.Using your eyes will mean that you never get bored.

This is very unusual. It was when I enlarged it that I found that the sweeps of color were coming out of clarinets and saxophones. Very creative work Kate.

I love the ideas behind this piece of work. We all try to fit in with our peers but this encourages people to have confidence that they are accepted even if they are very different. This captures the same emotions that a poet might strive for. Well done.

Excellent choice of colors. Blue/ yellow and orange/ purple are complimentary colors so each makes the other "pop". Did you do this deliberately or did you do this instinctively? Either answer is very good. It makes this an exciting picture. Do you remember printing with the fish you caught?

Good work Kate. I like the way the two chairs are positioned to keep your eye in the picture a bit like two hands cradling the table.

Kate, I really like this piece. Before I read your comment, I thought how well the black background tied the piece together and enhanced the colors. It would not have been as powerful if the black had been the same value as the colored areas. I also enjoyed the playful floaty feeling of the cubes. Your work is becoming expressive. Well done. I like the way you saw not just the shadows but the intensity of the colors .
