Zoë, you have beautifully used the same colors that van Gogh used in his Starry Night. I love it! Did you know that the colors used by van Gogh were extremely rare in the late 19th century. The pigments necessary to create the deep blues, aquamarine, and the bright iconic yellow, came from Copper, Zinc, and Cobalt. Those metals are extremely common but the concentrated acid required to create copper sulfate and zinc sulfate was very hard to get. Cobalt oxide by itself is grey, but pair it with super rare aluminum alloy and you get that briliant blue color. -- Dad
