Jack, I love this city skyline you created! Looks like you may have done a watercolor wash over your tall buildings, and I love the colors you chose! Each of your buildings has it’s own unique character. This is worthy of being framed as a picture for the wall!! Well done Jack! xoxo Grammy Suzie

Love your snowy Mountains Jack with pine trees here and there! Reminds me of my younger years up in the snowy mountains of Tioga county as a little girl. However, we had a lot more trees. Your mountains with few trees, look safer on which to toboggan, which is what we enjoyed doing in the snow! Your purple sky makes it look like a very cold day in the mountains!! Hence Grammy always ended up with frozen piggy toes!!! xoxo Grammy Suzie

Wow Jack! What a neato chalk snowman! Chalk is a fun art medium to work in. Love his blue scarf and red hat. It put a smile on his face. Now all we need is some snow outside so you, Nora and Owen can build a real snowman!! There’s nothing like fun in the snow!! xoxo Grammy Suzie

Great Thanksgiving Still life picture Jack. My Mother always had a Cornucopia on our Thanksgiving table when I was growing up. I Love the colors you used, and drawing a Cornucopia is no easy task! You mastered it! Thanksgiving brings the Harvest time, and we have so much to be thankful for! xoxo Grammy Suzie

Your skull doesn’t look too scary, Jack! In fact he looks rather festive with his smile and his feathers! I love the colors you used! Good job!

WOW Jack?? This lighthouse project is by far one of your best art projects! I love your colors and the total effect is AWESOME! Like a stormy night at sea! I even enjoy the fact that your lighthouse has a slight lean. Seams to be stretching it’s light for a ship sailing by in the storm! I love pictures of lighthouses, and I especially love yours! I think you were in a lighthouse last summer when all our family was vacationing in the Outer Banks! Hoping to see this picture hanging up at home when we visit. It is a Jack Masterpiece! xoxo Grammy Suzie

That looks like a delicious piece of cake, Jack! I could eat that right up! What kind is it? I have to confess that I didn’t know what a Thiebaud cake was. I looked it up and discovered that Thiebaud is an artist who is well known for his paintings of pastries and cake. They all look delicious in his paintings!

Your Log Cabin is really surrounded by lots of snow, and I especially like the big snow drift in front of the cabin! Hopefully you can get out to chop wood and sit by the campfire in back of the cabin. Perhaps this log cabin can house your Cub Scout troop for a weekend adventure! Well done Jack understanding your art lesson, making things that are further away appear smaller. I love how you are learning art concepts from the artwork of other artists! xoxo

Your gumball machine looks very cool, Jack! It looks as though it might be a little hard for some of the big ones to get out though! I’m wondering what color gumball I would hope for if I tried it myself! I think I would like a blue one! How about you?
-- Nan

Well not sure what all you have in your gumball machine Jack. Looks like more than just gum balls, or else there are some mighty big ones in there! I use to love to get gum balls out of the machines when I was a little girl, always hoping to get my favorite flavors!! You have a very inviting gumball machine. Good Job! So this brings your 2nd grade school year to an end. It’s been a great year for you!! Summer here I come!! Well, I must say Jack, you made a mighty fine Snow person!! Your blended purples and blue tell me it is very cold, and that is GOOD for your snow person. He should be around for a while. Such a big round body and tiny legs! Sure hope they can keep holding him up! I hope you enjoyed the story about snowmen through the year. I certainly Love your snow person! xoxo

Jack, is that you standing in front of that Scary cat?! You don't look frightened at all! That big black cat would have scared me! I like how you have the cat's hair standing on end, making him look scary. He must have been out roaming on Halloween night. Great picture! love, Grammy xoxo

Jack, I LOVE owls too!! This looks like a dark cold night, but Mr. Owl sure looks cozy perched in his bed of leaves. I enjoy the unique additions to the frame around your picture. Very decorative. love, Grammy xoxo
