Looks like you have inherited your great-granddad's (snd great uncles) talent. Your lettering looks innovative whilst remaining clear. Smart work, Simon. Granny Z

What a lot you can read into this one: a castle with two keeps, the golem reaching up, a hunter or a knight's belt bag. Love the texture. Love the look. The whole theme is dark and mysterious! Lovevfrom grannyz

I really love this. It reminds me of the Golum of Budapest.

Good practice if you intend to become an old time matelot aka a pirate. They needed to be hotstuff with needle-and-thread: mending sails, trousers, shirts and flags, including the Jolly Roger. Or of course, a surgeon. Very neat and well-formed. Most impressed at the stitching. Love from GrannyZ

Wow. A dizzy perspective. Very Escher-like. An ant's eye view of a townscape...or giant man made cliffs in tiny places. Hmmmm! Granny Z
- Ruth on November 16, 2023

Colouring a wheel within a wheel, within a wheel surrounding a tiny pivot...or a vividly hued plate with two dips like a trencher designed with a gravy pool. I like the conundrums set by your untitled artwork. GrannyZ

Dear Simon, we think this is a popsicle stick self portrait. We love it. Grandma Rona and Grandpa Louis-Jack

Is this your creative take on The Simpsons, or did you have something more arty in mind? Love the hairstyle and wouldn't be averse to wearing the shirt.. ??. Love from GrannyZ

The cloud in the sky set out to defy the probing of my finger. The image is bright a d such a delight, that I must let my eyes look and linger. I love both the bugs, who deserve lots of hugs and the crescent moon doth look on benignly, that the hearts go aleaping divinely. Love your theatrical picture. Love the stories in it. Fine job, Simon x Granny Z

Dottery, pottery! Two eyes and a nose? Twin eggcup? Two big tawny eyes? Double trouble? Brilliant bowls and cups. Love the colours too. Love from Granny Z

These artisan cups are really attractive. They could be used as egg cups or tea/coffee bag receptacles. How well thought out and beautifully decorated. Nicely crafted, Simon. GrannyZ

Is this a mushroom house for growing fungi with a watering hole to one side? Only joking! I can see a smart looking garden room with side chair and bed. Anyone lying there dreaming of cooling off, just has to leap out the door and into a luxurious and accurately-sized 7ft square pool, if my old eyes don't deceive me. Beautifully structured. Granny Z

Like a lonely little petunia in an onion patch, your reflections provoke others to think. Just the job, Simon. Granny z

As usual, Dear Simon, you have illustrated an interesting theme remarkably well. The central star sending out a beautifully colour-graded series of "balloons". Looks as if it is aspiration surrounded by hope's and dreams. Thank you, dear lad. Granny z

Swirl and twirl. This is a marvellous chart of colour shapes, just like something Grandad Jack would do. It's an arty tribute to geometry! Lovely. Granny z

Simon, your best name is fabulous. You are a real STAR! Love, Grandma Rona

Felt that we were travelling swiftly and smoothly into the distance. It is a road to a mysterious future between two massive now-topped Alps. Yup! Any bucko bound for adventure would be wise to follow the Simon Road vanishing realistically onwards and onwards...... love from Granny Z

Nice perspective Simon. I'd like to be on the road with you and see those trees and mountains. Love, Grandma Rona

This S is swanning around pretending to be a bird...or two! Just the way it is and it looks like Grangran's favourite toucan. Slide down the S swan, turn it upside down and you've got a duckling, a wee mouse or a very colourful pencil. Love this S..S..S..Super, Simon. Love from Granny z

A carnival alphabet. Brilliant colours, mirror letters reflecting good ideas and leading patterns drawing it altogether. Truly exciting and tremendous fun unfolding b4 my eyes. Very well composed dear maestro Grandboy. Granny z. X0

Prickly pineapple and squirty squash vs nasty knife and thick, old board. Wow! What tricky tricks were used to win that contest? Pretty fiery. I hope that eventually they combine forces for good. By the way, I think that I left a comment earlier today. Lots of love Granny z
- Ruth on December 9, 2020

I love this. I'd like it for my cartoon collection. Any chance of a photocopy? Granny z

I beg your pardon? It would be quite a work of art if brains could fart. As it happens you have captured the image beautifully. Where's my hanky gone? Oh a peg will do while We work out the body parts of this remarkable feat. Granny po...oh I mean z.

Was this a school of fishes with Teacher porpoise? Or was this dolphin dinner? I couldn't quite make out the writing but I do think the fish are superbly drawn. Granny z

Very inventive. Very (((rude))) very well made very colourful and very very funny. Great book of facts. Mmmmm! I wonder if someone is kidding here? Love from Granny z
- Ruth on December 9, 2020

I was sure that a message was sent for the book of funny facts. It made me think and smile at the same time ... two for the price of one! Loved it!
- Ruth on December 9, 2020

Captain Pineapple has a devil may care smile. He looks about to juice something into Grenadire Glass with a handy straw that could double as a pea shooter. Certainly something to overcome the Baddy board and the Niffy knife (by the way, is that handle sticky?). Nothing that soap and water couldn't cure, don't you think. Great fun drawing dear lad.x
- Ruth on December 9, 2020

Captain ? He's very scary, whilst old slick knife makes me feel wary. A fearsome picture this one, Simon, but very well executed! Love you old man. From Granny z.
- Ruth on December 9, 2020

Has he got an eye on everything! Captain Pineapple just juices the bad guys, I bet. He is also hugely handsome (for a pineapple). I can just get the full flavour of his bold adventures from this wonderfully drawn FRUITY HERO!
- Ruth on December 9, 2020

For just a moment, it seemed as if I was in a museum gazing at ancient Egyptian treasures. Indeed, it looked like Tutankhamun's or Neferatiti's imperial headgear. It could even have been worn by Moses when he was a Prince. Beautifully done, Simon. Your artwork took me on an historical adventure.
- Ruth on December 9, 2020

How on earth did I miss this colourful and nicely designed dreidl? It is Prince.....nay... it is the Emperor of dreidls. Give it a spin, it is sure to win for its artist. Love from Granny Z
- Ruth on December 9, 2020

How exciting is that tablet? It is so well done, in the style of some ancient scribe. Just imagine someone finding this in the far off future and saying solemnly, this is a remarkable find. A beautifully executed alphabet. So clear and so correct. Well done Simon! From Granny Z
- Ruth on December 9, 2020

Excellent 'typography'. Very neat and clear. I can see that among your many talents, dear Simon, that songwriting is one of your strength. Give us an S, give us an I, give us an M, an O and an N! The only time Simon spells ACE! Granny Z
- Ruth on December 9, 2020

Saw a ship hoving to in the harbour whilst a happy chappy - possibly a merry mariner lurks in the foreground. I wonder who he might be? Granny z
- Ruth on December 9, 2020

This is a most mysterious creation. It says Calders stable, which is even more mouse-terious since at this scale it could be a mouse's stable. Well well, who knows? I quite enjoy its soaring magnificence. An Arc by any other name. Beautifully balanced my Grandboy. Love from Granny z
- Ruth on November 14, 2019

Unlike others in the forest, this lovely leaf reminds me of native American art. It reflects the land and the nature if autumn. A fine piece of work. It would make a beautiful enamel necklace. Live from Granny z

I left a comment on first seeing this. It seems to have gone astray. What do I think? THIS IS BREATHTAKING! What an excellent design, superb combination of pattern and colour and I heartily agree with "kind" and such. Great artwork dear Simon from a proud Grannyz. Keep up the family traditions. Top Mark's.x
- Ruth on November 14, 2019
Simon. This is an amazing illustration. The balance, the colouring and sense of pattern falling naturally into the design deserves a grown-up comment. THIS IS EPIC!! I wish that I could have a copy. Love from Granny Z
- Ruth on November 14, 2019

That is a stunningly beautiful leaf. Although it is made of clay, it looks feathery and light. A shiny gloss brings it alive. Skillfully made , it looks so real, that it could have just dropped from a tree in the Autumn, which is the same as Fall. Thank you Simon for sharing
- Ruth on October 31, 2019

What a magnificent riot of pattern and colours. You have moved the paints and pens into a magic composition. A double success. Brilliant. Love from granny z

What dinosaur is this Creeping out of the mist? I can hear it's thumping claws and am scared of its crunching jaws!.but maybe it's a vegetarian. Then I'd pat it on the nose but I bet that it's breath would be smelly and my legs would turn to jelly(0). Brilliant mask Simon. Love it.

Hey, hey Simon, this is: A four legged top..a four legged top...will never let you down (or are they called 'wings'. Anyway, get Dad to sing this one). It is is similar to the flag of an island, called the Isle of Man (except that only has three legs). Yours is far superior and would certainly spin faster. As always, I love the colours and the ornamental centre. Turquoise, red and green - I bet it has an exciting mix when it spins fast. Love ftom Granny Z
