The pattern of bright colors utilized makes the piece appealing to one’s eyes. Additionally, the way the colors are put onto the piece makes it seem like a woven basket and gives a more traditional and perhaps cultural look.

This abstract piece is very unique because of the unorthodox shapes that are present throughout the frame. Using your mind, you can make out different figures from your own perspective.

The way you used stippling to build such dynamic volume and contrast across the swirling forms is truly impressive. Your composition captures a haunting, expressive energy that feels both chaotic and controlled and could portray breaking under pressure or staying calm. To push this further, you might consider introducing a slightly more consistent rage of values, but the hold off from doing this here does really elevate the mouth as the focal point.

The value tones in the hair give off this super ocean-wave vibe. The controlled, wavy lines of the hair flow right down to the face, which kinda makes the face look like it has these extended fractures and more curves. It makes the face look super amorphous, which really makes the art. The stippling technique is totally obvious, with the dots creating value tones that make the fractures on the face pop, along with every single curve in the hair.

I really enjoy the way value was applied to this art piece using the dots. The different gradations makes it look very unique. The fragment pieces also give a nice touch to the artwork.

The contrast between the face and back round, along with the patterns expressed through the value tones, allows the composure to express a rough and smooth feeling. Moreover, the shading allows a clear distinction between the face and backround.

The gradation is clear since the contrast between the two values are clear. The curved fractures are creative and amorphous. The technique makes the artwork prickly.

The value tones in the hair give an effect of ocean waves in a seastorm. The controlled and curved lines of the hair extend all the way down to the face making the face have the effect of extending fractures and making the face look amorphous with the rest of the artwork. The technique of stippling is very obvious with the dots making value tones which highlight the fractures in the face

The texture is very nice and soft while the contrast is very demanding.

The contrast between the swirls of hair is nice. In addition, the gradation between the value tones is very smooth. Moreover, the top of the artwork seems very dark compared to the bottom and middle of the artwork, as the dark value tones are more apparent towards the top.

The shading technique used on the ground here truly gives it a realistic texture and wavy, bumpy pattern that would align with that of an unburdened field. The gradient in the sky almost creates the illusion of rain, and a light source shining from the left, opening up the dark gloomy skies.

The light source introduces an interesting perspective into the artwork. With the light coming from the top left of the piece, and incorporating then slanted lines in for the sky, the artwork looks like a rainy day where the sun is shining. This allows the painting to have a sadder, yet more powerful expression, especially with the hikers looking like they just discovered something in the light.

There is depth shown and the shading is good with the outline not showing

The cross hatching adds lots of texture and contrast. This is balanced and has a lot of value.

The light source creates a shadow that is similar to each objects shape. On the cone, the holes in it have their own shadow and it looks 3D.

The composition shows the woven texture really nicely, the vibrant and neutral toned colors fill the picture plane beautifully, making the pattern look strong and unified.

I enjoy the color choices because it contrasts very well and I can really feel the weaving, looks 3 dimensional
