Ooooh, I love this! Very Andy Warhol. Is it RBG saying "what a drag!"
Posted 5 years ago by Mere
Is the "G" for Georgia or Grammy? Great combination of designs. We were able to transfer Grammy into the passenger seat of her car so "Driveway Visits" will soon be back on the schedule. Can't wait to visit Juniper Lane. Papa
Posted 5 years ago by Papa
I have a feeling you did this for Georgia, not yourself. It's very clever, I must say!
Posted 5 years ago by Mere
Ellen I have been pretty lazy lately about leaving comments for your great art work. This is yet another wonderful example of your talent. Your color wheel is another great piece, the symmetry of your shapes is perfect, and they look like I could reach out and pick one to see how it looks in my house. Thanks for all the wonderful art. Love you, Grammy
Posted 5 years ago by Grammy
Ooooo! Let's make a needlepoint of this. It would make a great pillow for your room!
Posted 5 years ago by Mere
That big ole tree looks like it's reaching out for a hug! Love you, Ellen!

Love this, Ellen. Those ornaments positively GLOW!
Posted 6 years ago by Mere
I got my eye on you! Is this the eye of an exotic tropical bird or a human?
Posted 6 years ago by Mere
Very cooool, Ellen. Looks likes the center is bulging because of the way you shaded the spaces.
Posted 6 years ago by Mere
Ellen these shoes are a perfect fit. The detail is so real and they look like they would sell In a very expensive store. Your talent amazes me and I think Nike should talk to you about designing a new shoe that girls your age would wear. Love you Grammy
Posted 6 years ago by Ann
Ellen -- very interesting. You will need to teach me more about this as I have NO understanding of any real art theories. I just love to look at it all and decide if I like or not!
Posted 6 years ago by Mere
Ellen -- you were right! This is SUPER COOL!

Wow, Ellen! This shows a lot of artistic creativity and hard work. How long did you work on the weaving? It is beautifully done!
Posted 7 years ago by Mere
This is so cool. It reminds me of the last piece with the mirror images of your name. Did you work on them at the same time?
Posted 7 years ago by mere
Wow! did you use a mirror?
Posted 7 years ago by mere
Wow Ellen this is really time consuming art work, very impressive that you figured a way to incorporate your name into the design. I love it Grammy

Wow Ellen those leaves look amazing. They have such great fall color shading, and the way they are kind of tossed around it looks dimensionally like it might be a windy day, and the mix of different sizes of leaves is great. Wish I had that much color in The leaves at my house. Love Grammy

Wow --- you have a beautiful name! At first I just saw your middle name, one that is very important to me because we share it. Then your other names started to pop. This can be your preppy monogram.
-- Mere

Ellen --- as I look at all the artwork that has been posted on Artsonia, I am struck with the similarity of your color choices over time. I wonder if you would say these are your "favorite" colors and if that stays with you over the years. Something to think about .... Your butterfly is beeeeeuuuuutiful!

Ellen did you know that Matisse is one of aunt Christina's favorite artists? I don't always appreciate his art, but yours is a lovely interpretation, and one that I understand and appreciate very much. Keep up the creative work, maybe someday you will be a famous enough artist also!! Grammy
-- Ann
Posted 9 years ago
Ellen --- I Loooove this! Matisse is one of my favorite artists, and now you and your little panda can join in the fun and appreciation for his talent. Did you know that he was blind much of his later life? That is when he began to cut paper and create collages that he glued together. There is always a way to make beautiful art ... even if you don't see very well.

Ellen --- you are our own budding Monet! Ask your teacher to show you some of his waterlily paintings, see the way he painted the reflection of the sky in the pond with the lily pads. Clouds floating on the water, just like your buildings floating on the lake below. Beautiful!
-- Mere
Posted 10 years ago

Very pretty, Ellen! I love the strong outlines. You have captured the shapes of each fruit very well. Did you draw/paint from real life --- I mean was there a real bowl of fruit for you to try to paint or did you make this one up in your creative little mind?

Ellen --- I used Google to see the inspiration for your kitty by looking up Paul Klee Cat and Bird. You did a great job of placing the bird so we can see that your kitty is hungry and thinking about dinner. I also love your color and pattern choices. I imagine that a wall full of these hungry cats would be a scary Halloween sight!
