When I assigned a parody of Grant Wood's 'American Gothic,' Kirstin was thrilled to mash up Tim Burton's 'Nightmare Before Christmas' with the iconic Iowa classic. She experimented and problem-solved with color pencils to get just the right ghoulish tones in Sally's face.
