Char, i LOVE THIS. It reminds me of the colors we see on our trips and the contrast between shadow and light is impressive. I hope this one makes it home, as i can imagine it in my office. Keep loving Art! -Mom

Charles, Your plants remind me of the cactus right outside our favorite breakfast restaurant in the Dominican Republic. I hope the bright colors keep you comfortable as we battle through the last of the cold weather weeks. Love Mom.

Charles, Love the colors and the Japanese technique of your design. Please let Ms. K know that the art show was an impressive display of BBES - "mad" art skills. Mom

Charles, I've seen this before. Be willing to try new things. Sometimes they work out, sometimes they don't but you'll never know until you've given it a shot. How many tries did it take the Wright Brothers before they got a plane off the ground? Keep making art - I am inspired by what you do. Mom

Charles - Lots of detail and great color choices for the background. I love it, but my favorite part is how you blended the color to give the owl hazel eyes ---- just like yours. Keep loving art. Mom

Hello, Little Eyes! I remember when Charles was going through the steps of developing a monster for art class. And here you are. I am sorry to hear that your plan of pretending to live in the fields as a small animal didn't work out. It was worth a try. Nice work Charlie! - Mom

Great job, Charlie! Remember talking about this in the car ride home a few weeks ago? I told you how popular this was right around the time your dad & I were married and a lot of my friends decided to have intricate designs on their hands or feet for their wedding day. Charlie, I really have to think about this one. Does it have texture? Did you think more about the contrast of the colors, or working to blend the black and white colors into various grays? Not every piece or art is a pretty sunset. The ones that make me think are usually the ones that catch my interest. Keep making interesting art! Love, Mom.
