Wow Alyssa! ????? I enjoyed seeing the "Dotted Flower" and reading the rational behind how you created it. You really have grown as an artist and creator of interesting interpretations of things and beauty in the world around you. Continue to explore Art as your go through your schooling and beyond . . You do have an abundance of talent. ? Grandma ??

Alyssa, This is a very interesting assignment. I am thinking you are showing the two houses in your life right now. The house you live in and the one you are buying ? I also see nervousness as well as happiness going to both homes. Great drawing! ???

It’s so creative!! I love you

What a great deal of action and movement I see in your work ! Nancy

Your rainbow shape reminds me of an animal head with short ears or bulging eyes. Your rainbow certainly has an abundance of blue shades. I especially like purple and red... Perhaps this spring you will have an opportunity to photograph a rainbow by your school or home.

This is really interesting, Alyssa. You have excellent proportions on your face and the start contract is fun. I know you are also a good student, athletic, dancer, and kind to animals. How great to be talented in many areas. thanks for sharing this.

Alyssa!??????? Great job on the drawing of an eye. I really like the white dot that makes the eye come alive!!! You are learning many neat skills in Art Class even if you are at home right now. Keep up the good work!! Love you!!????

I love your eyeball. It looks like yours.

You have a difficult project and have done a fine rendering ! The emphasis on the eyes and calm expression are noticed. Is this a pencil image ? Human faces are math and you have the proportions. Looking forward to the next image !

Alyssa !! ??????? I am always impressed with your self-portrait at the beginning of each school year! So . . exactly WHAT impresses me the most . . 1. As always, you filled up your page. 2. You use design in your picture (clothes) and I KNOW you like colorful clothes! That took a long time coloring in each square!!!! 3. You have a great expression on your face like someone who is EXPLORING new things and isn't sure how the exploring will turn out! 4. AND YOU HAVE TAKEN THIS ASSIGNMENT AND SHOWN US CHARACTERISTICS OF YOUR AMAZING PERSONALITY!!!!! I AM SO PROUD OF YOU AND AMAZED AT ALL YOU DO! YES, YOU do like going new places and you want to experience new adventures! PERFECT portrait of a GREAT 5th grader?? LOVE!!!???

Great colors - is this a paper collage ? Your placement of the main subject (you) and the background is ideal. I'm looking forward to more of your art. May the rest of your year be enjoyed. Nancy

Aly, Interesting assignment!! I really like the yarn detail!!! Nice color between the yarn and the pink bottom section of the vase. Keep creating at home! Love, ?? Grandma R.

This looks like a clay project with enclosures and plantings. Due to the scale I am not able to tell inhabitants or visitors to the zoo. I am curious as to the red piece in the upper left hand edge of the paper. Perhaps you will draw your cat while you are home ? Thanks for the sharing.

Again you have chosen contrasting materials and texture. Will you be doing black and white photos too ? Double exposure ? Perhaps you will be the photographer on your next n Visit north ! Thanks for sharing your creative fun.
Posted 7 years ago by Nancy

Great colors and texture plus you have the bench close up and off set. If you wanted to reduce this to lines it would be a strong composition of lines and planes. I am impressed you have cameras to use and how careful this image was composed. May you enjoy more photography as art.
Posted 7 years ago by Nancy

Hi Alyssa!!! YOU really shot a nice composition with your 'Blue Bench" photo!! I think it is really neat that you are also learning about photography in Art Class!!! I think you nailed the assignment and I love how the blue bench is a part of the photo rather than the only thing in your photo! Job well done!! Can't wait to see the next project :) Love You!

This is terrific ! The color is happy and the dark lines define space. This is a great pattern and design. Instead of circles I see more trapezoids, pyramids , and other geometric space. Is this paint or crayon ? Have you done any tissue paper projects using shapes ? Thanks for sharing. -- Nancy

You used the space of the paper very well with one large clear drawing. Is this a Uni-cat or Poe with a party hat on ? You have good details on the face. I'm glad cats don't fly or our cat, Quill, would be more successful as a hunter of birds. -- Nancy

Your art piece may be the favorite of all your work. The curves and colors plus shading are very interesting. this would make a great quilt fabric. I hope you frame this one. -- Nancy

Alyssa, Dragonflies are one of my FAVORITE flying insects. I also LOVE bumbles :) I think you are right that a pond will bring out the colors and shine of the dragonflies bodies. Alyssa - What a GREAT title for your creative drawing/painting!!! You really are showing EXPRESSION in the face of those you draw!! I can tell this is a SCREAMING Alyssa in that water!! (I am NOT a fan of sharks either!) Great use of your paper - filled the page - dramatic sky colors and I can tell those are sharks with their fins ABOVE the water!!! Other sea creatures are watching!! I LOVE this picture and can tell it is definitely worth 3 WEEKS of work! YOU can be PROUD of this ART!! ?? Grandma R. -- Grandma R. ??

I love ur creative turtle!! -- Mary

Your mola is very different from those I've seen from Central America. Did you rip and tear the layers ? Molas are usually layers of solid colored fabric with each layer cut and then sewed back to make a narrow edge. Are you studying Nicaragua or you are being various art types ? Have a great summer - may you enjoy painting and drawing on the rainy days when you are inside and would like a break from reading, playing. or helping with other projects. -- Nancy

I love the colors you used. You are quite an artist. -- Grammy

Your bright colors and shapes are interesting. I am interested in the designs from ancient Egypt. I saw part of the King Tut exhibit in Houston, Texas and I have postcards from the visit. I'll try and remember to share them with your 'grandma' and she may mail one to you. -- Nancy

This is confusing to me, Alyssa. It seems to be a brownish-red spheres and one has added 'dots' of clay. You had something in mind. I'm glad you are doing three dimensional work in addition to the flat paintings and drawings. What will you do next ? -- Nancy

Alyssa!!! Wow!! You are learning how to draw people and ACTION people too!!!! The poses of your classmates must have been fun to draw. I like that you are learning how the different parts of the body move and the center of a face where eyes will eventually be drawn. YOU ARE LEARNING LOTS THIS YEAR! It isn't easy drawing a body correctly and YOU are doing a great job! Keep up the good work!! Love, Grandma -- Grandma R.

I don't see the opening to this 'pot' ? Is it a container for dried milk weeds or an interesting branch that may be blown down ? What a super color - aqua or turquoise says SPRING or BEACH - and most of those of us in the northern Michigan are ready for warmth and sunshine. I look forward to your next project. Nancy -- Nancy

Your placement of the designs is interesting - you left some open spaces and mixed larger and smaller patterns. I am looking forward to your new ideas for 2017 ! Have you do a total deep color with crayons and then painted over all with a dark paint and then scratched off a patterns yet ? You can also fold a paper like a 'hot dog' fold and paint one side - fold it together and you get a print of your design. There are so many fun projects ahead for you. Thanks for letting me view your work. -- Nancy

Your creation reminds me of two favorites snakes at Raven Hill Discovery Center. Checkers is a corn snake and Leroy is a Royal Python. Neither of them are the bright blue or have pink-eyes. Your snake would make a great book marker design too. What will you do next ? Nancy -- Nancy

What an amazing bird. How fun to think you created this one all by yourself. What color egg does the Alyssa Bird lay ? Is the nest on the ground, in a tree top, or inside a cavity ? Could that smaller bird in the bottom corner be the 'chick' ? The largest bird I have seen today is a raven. None of the winter birds coming in for suet or seeds are as colorful as your bird. -- Nancy
