This reminds of those colorful Koi fish that are often in a Japanese garden pond. The layers of blue and green make me think that he is trying to sneak up on prey by hiding behind the reeds and grasses. What a beautiful painting!!

I would love to know what inspired you to paint this, Eli. it reminds me of the Giving Tree--a wise old tree with great branches to climb and big, strong roots beneath the surface. The colors remind me of a fall day.

WOW! I have been hearing so many good things about this Giant Pacific octopus and it is wonderful to finally see it. I like how his tentacles are moving around and the different shades of blue reminds me of the ocean where he might live. Love it!
