This is really beautiful! I love the texture of the evergreen with the pink flower. Just a nice combination. I enjoy your work!

Hi, Cece! I love the photo you did for your art class. It is very pretty! Grandma

The colors and textures do make for an interesting photo. And yes, the shadows can really be tough without flash sometimes!

Bunnies ARE fun to watch Cece. Their moving noses always make me smile!
- Aunt Becky on May 25, 2021

I love this concept of drawing with both hands at once and think you did a better job than you are giving yourself credit for. It's tough to do both! You picked a good item to draw too. ??
- Aunt Becky on May 25, 2021

Look at those fancy nails! Good job with the details. I wonder if you looked at your hand while you did this. Nice shading as well.

I bet this was fun to do! It reminds me of a giant Easter egg! There have been lots of chalk drawings around here lately. I imagine it's like that there too.

This is fun to look at. It reminds me of looking at lilies. I can imagine all of the variations in the petals of the flowers. Nice!
- Aunt Becky on May 13, 2020
I really liked this piece! The texture on the piece was great! I tried to figure out if you used something to base it on. I enjoyed this a lot!
- Nana on April 22, 2020
Cece, I really like your drawing. You said that you drew a lot of curved lines, and that it creates depth. It really does! You are learning a lot about art. Keep up the good work. Love you!
- GrandmaA on April 22, 2020

Cece, good work on the chalk Easter egg! The colors make me think of spring, and of course, Easter!
- Grandma on April 22, 2020

Great job working with slabs on this one, Cece. The open door and shutters look tricky. Did you slip and score them on? Cool textures, too. Love the pagoda-style architecture.
- Aunt Mandy on April 8, 2020

Outstanding, Cece! And the fact you did this on your own - WOW!! The composition is spot-on. The doubled paper balances out the cropped hand and creates triangular movement around the piece. And you are absolutely correct about the shadows adding depth. Nice work!!

Cece, I really like the artwork you did last week, the one with the hand and fancy fingernails on the pad of paper. Did you do that at home? Or was that from a previous class at school? We miss you and wish that you were here visiting. But we'll do that when it is ok again to get together. Love you!! Grandma

Hi Cece, I really enjoyed this one. I think you did a great job on the hand and the fingers, which are hard to do. I liked your perspective.
- Nana on March 25, 2020

I love this Cece! The open door and shutters are a nice detail, along with the vines. I really like the metallic copper roof and texture too. It seems the building would be right at home in a hot climate, such as Mexico. Nice work!

This is fun, Cece! Good job on your drawing.

Great stuff! Love they radial symmetry! Beautiful colors, too. What did you use for painting it? it looks like maybe a resist of some kind?

Awesome! I LOVE doing blind contours. I teach my students that a blind contour is like a warm-up. You really get to know the object you are drawing because you've spent several minutes staring at every part of it. It's kind of like a tracing for a 3D object. I can see many of the skeleton's details that you included, Cece--so cool! You've got a great teacher! :o)

Hi Cece, This is beautiful. I love the birch trees, they look so real. I agree with Nana, it is like looking out your front window in the winter. I really think you have a talent for art. Don't give up! I love the art work you do! Love, Mom

Beautiful work, Cece! Wow! You did a great job with the sunset color changes in the background and just the right amount of black on the birch trees. Sounds like a fun project with lots of different steps.

"Gold Galaxy" is beautiful. I wonder how you make one picture from the other?! You'll have to tell me about that. The colors are beautiful, and it makes me think of the beauty of our planets and stars and sky!

I LOVE this, Cece! Scratchboard was always one of my favorite mediums. Next time you're in Dallas, ask Grandpa to show you the cowboy I made for him about a million years ago. He still has it -- in a frame, no less! Looks like you might have an addition to his collection here. Great job!??

Nice work, Cece! It's fun to mix paint, and now that you know how all the primary colors work together you can make all sorts of other colors! This is knowledge I use every single day!

Lovely contour line drawing of the fall still-life! Great job showing the different directions the lines come out from the pumpkin stem, especially. I like your cool colors in the background and the warm colors in some of your main objects. And I REALLY like that you mixed in some neutral brown!! Keep up the great work, Cece!

Hi, Cece! Oh, I can definitely see Kandinsky's inspiration in your work. This is a wonderfully expressive and energetic piece. I'm sure you enjoyed the music, but your final product (your painting) is very inspiring itself. GREAT JOB!!
