I like that you used a less refined technique with these primary colors and bold, graphic lines. It makes for a nice, conceptual contrast. Art can sometimes lose its grounding on an all-white background, but this has a modern simplicity and the white works well here. Nice job.

This is very cool Vaughn. I love how it draws my eye into and all around your work. There is a lot of movement, and rhythm here. Your use of contrast also adds a lot of interesting depth. Great job with the printing technique, I love the ghost images of your carving. You created a dynamic composition which really holds my attention. I can get lost in this artwork. Excellent results with abstract art!

I love how the pumpkin has a glow to it, it really comes forward from the page and keeps the eye locked in to the work. You highlighted and shadowed expertly! And your background color choices are perfect for showcasing your subject. There is also a bit of mystique in this artwork. I'm so proud of you! Super job ViVi!

Very nice drawing Vaughn. It reminds me of a mid-century print. It is also a bit like a puzzle. And the high-contrast separation adds a lot of visual interest with a thicker line quality and movement. You have some different values going on that work well together. As you mature and progress, you'll move the contrasting elements around the work with lighter 'lights' and even darker 'darks'. I'm impressed at the asymmetrical placement of your thicker line, that is very sophisticated for a 3rd-grader! Yay ViVi!
