What fun! So colorful! I would love to have this picture made into a big wreath the hang on my front door…this picture makes me happy… thank you, Etienne, for making my day!

I love this winter scene, Etienne! The white birches casting their shadows on the snow, the bird sitting on a leafless branch, and that little fox looking for food reminds me of winter in Northern Michigan! The details of the footprints in the snow and the rock wall (are they Petoskey stones?) makes me think of a wall that I admire when Auntie Anne and I go hiking. We’ve had sunsets when the sky is ablaze in oranges and yellows just like your sky. I think this piece should be framed... it’s beautiful!!! Good job!!!

Hi Etienne! I had print made of this piece...and gave it to myself for Christmas! I hope to have it framed by the time you visit next summer...it's been toooooo long since I've seen you all. Keep doing what you're doing...love to see your work through Artsonia!!!

I can't believe I didn't comment on this! Didn't I send you a sketchbook with this on the cover? I think he's great...complete with pine tree branch and a little bit of holly! Lovely xoxoxo

Hi Etienne! I don't know how you did this; but, I love it!!! I wish Artsonia would list the assignment for each piece that is put online.I know your teacher tells what the assignment was at the beginning of the viewing; but, I don't always know how to find it when I go back to look at your work several times...Maybe that would give me an idea of how you made it!?! The detail is amazing....it looks like it should be made into a quilt square. The colors used are so symmetrical (like pieces of printed cloth) that this piece is very pleasing to the eye! So glad your teacher puts your artwork online for all of us to enjoy!

This snowflake is magnificent, Etienne! I love the way you have made your origami folds so crisp, resulting in a lovely array of points and a beautiful piece of artwork! We just received 14" of snow over the last several days and they say each snowflake is different and unique...and yours is just that! Please thank your teacher for giving you the opportunity to make this. You are truly blessed. Love, Grandma C xoxo

I really like your composition of fruit, vegetables and flowers! I recognize the lemon, apples, orange, banana and grapes; but, I would have to guess that the flowers are cosmos or zinnias!?! Please don’t keep me in suspense...let me know what they are. I am really curious! Love the pattern you have on the vase, and the pumpkin looks like you just picked it and are ready to make it into a Jack-o-lantern! I hope you keep this creation so that I can see it the next time we’re in Asheville! Nice work, Etienne! Thanks for sharing!

This picture makes me think that you should come and pick the zinnias in my garden! It looks like your hands are about to take your Mom a big bunch of flowers! Good job, Etienne!!!

Your fall leaves with little gusts of wind look so happy to be floating in that backdrop of a beautiful Carolina blue sky! They say if you catch a leaf before it gets to the ground, it's good luck! We have lots of reds, yellows and browns in our woods right now...they look wonderful when they're interspersed with the evergreens! Our sky is cloudier than yours, and the lake is a deep blue. Winter is coming! I love to see your art and the array of colors you use. Keep up the good work!

I love your rendition of the golden mask worn by King Tut! I remember seeing that very mask when it was shown at the Detroit Institute if Arts when I was in grade school! Do you know that in the basement of Canarvon Castle (Downton Abbey in the movies) there is a huge trove of Egyptian artifacts? The lord of Canarvon actually financed the excavation of King Tut's tomb which wasn't discovered until the 1920's!!! There is a show right now that Auntie Sheila took Teegan to see last week at Cranbroik Institute in Bloomfield Hills Michigan. I hope you have the opportunity to see a display of all the things that were found...it's amazing! Keep up the good work in Art Class! You really have an eye for color and composition and I love to see your work! Be sure to thank Mrs. Patete for me! I think I forgot the picture you gave me on Friday??... please save it for me! I love you, Grandma Carole ??????

Hey, Etienne! How did you know we had three mating pairs of cardinals using our feeders this winter? These males look a little worried about where their next sunflower seeds are coming from!?! I love their expressions, though...maybe they're just busy listening to what the bird with the big beak is saying! Mrs. Patete surely has some great ideas for you to express yourself through art! I'll bet you really enjoy her classes...Keep up the good work...Love you, Grandma Carole X0

I love your caterpillar! He is so skinny that if he eats his way through all the food he needs to make his cocoon, it is going to be huge! Are you going to draw a picture of all the food he eats like in the book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar? I bet he is going to be very beautiful when he emerges. He looks like such a happy caterpillar; and, he will really be able to find food fast with all those legs. Good job, Etienne!!! Love, Grandma Carole xxxooo
