Beautiful color wheel. I like the curvy lines you created to separate the brilliant colors. And the mermaid is stunning swimming in her ocean of colors.

What a cute mug. I love the striped handle and the background “confetti.” Interesting and pleasing colors for the mug and the background.

Shadows are hard to get right. I’m glad you’re working on this. Your shading looks pretty good. It’s fun to draw and see what comes out!

Southwest, Aztec design with bright colors. I like the combination. It’s joyful and it reminds me of the “mother” plant that you gave me back when you were about 3. Each leaf was covered with tiny little baby plants. I still have some of the babies. And I think that this is the last of the artwork from your elementary school. I have thoroughly enjoyed all your artwork. Thank you so much for all the beauty and fun. Love to you. ;) Always. Gramma b.

Ooooh. Planets? Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars... These are heavenly (celestial) colors.

Happy! Happy! Is this a self portrait? I love the expression. Looks like me when I open a bag of fresh potato chips. :)

This is awesome! Grampa especially likes it, too. Is that a Ferris wheel I see there? I think this would make Vincent smile, too.

I love this fish, Calla! She looks friendly. I would like to know more about the background-like what made you decide to use the ages you did. They’re very muted compared to your fish. That makes sense. The fish is the prominent image.

Very beautiful, Calla! I want to hear about this since it is called a “study.” What were you required to do and what were your choices? And what did you learn about color? It looks like it was fun to create.

This is a great start for grade 2. Did you draw one flower and cut into 4 to make this? I really like the effect.

Grandpa and I love this rabbit. Grandpa said, "Did Calla draw that?" when he saw it. And of course you did. We think your bunny has a lot of character. Did you use water colors to create him? I'm so glad you shared him!

Very interesting colors and textures. Grampa says this work is sophisticated because you used two different line styles and colors in each shape. Well done.

Calla, I love, love, LOVE this cheerful little flock of feathered friends! I like how some are just "hanging around" and some are looking up. I think some of them are the "Don't worry 'bout a thing" birdies from the song. Did I mention that I love these birds?

What a cool pumpkin!! I love the different textures and especially the vertical curlicues. They remind me of the curly vines on the pumpkin plant. I love your artwork!

This art is different from your earlier work. The red at the right looks like a figure who is holding up something. That may not have been your intent, but that's what I see. Sometimes the artist and the viewer see different things and that's ok. It's very interesting art and I like it!
