Hi Birthday-boy! This awesome picture should hang on a wall at every work site! A little heads-up never hurts. By the end of the day, everyone must be pretty much wasted, leaving the foreman to recruit a whole new crew every day. Great job on the rendering! Love G & G

Brodan, your artistic expression is getting better and more mature day by day. Keep up the good work. Hopefully thé art DVD lectures and text will challenge and encourage you for a long time.

Oooooooh Brodan ! I'm beginning to see how your 'art studio' provides so much inspiration. A real departure from trains, pumpkins and nutcrackers, your rendering of your 'studio' shows not only your artistic skill but shows how well that you, on your own, away from the normal support of the classroom, can really capture beautiful and unique perspectives of 'your' environment. Luv your art, and artistic ideas, Brodan. Grammy and I are always looking forward to your next 'masterpiece' ! Keep up the good work, Brodan !

That mask would be the star of the show next week.

I gotta love this one, Brodan. The assortment of colors on the largest 'pumpkin' remind me of the fabrics I use in my quilts. It also gives me an idea for how to make a quilted craft pumpkin. I will tell all my quilter friends that you were the inspiration for it. They will probably say lots of 'ooos' and 'aaws' ! Oh, and my mouth is watering for pumpkin pie, which is my all-time favorite. I'd like to order 3 pies, please. Love, G & G

Dear Brodan I am absolutely dazzled and amazed at the expansive variety of subject matter, creativity and detail reflected in your art work. I didn't have to be told that your most recent picture was a self portrait . . . I KNEW IT WHEN I FIRST SAW THE PICTURE ! Please excuse my tardiness in responding to your art emails, I look at ALL of them as soon as they come in. One of the most heart warming was your treatment of the Jesse Jackson quotation, "Never look down on anyone . . ." I know that, even though it's fun to play combat stuff, in your heart you have a strong feeling of caring for and respecting others, and that makes your Grampy very, very proud of you! Keep up the wonderful and beautifully executed art work. Grampy wishes he could be just a little bit as creative as you. See ya' come Christmas!

Hi Brodan, I really like this picture and the message it sends. If we all try to remember it, this would be a better world. Ask your Mom to sing this song to you. "I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony". Maybe you already know it. Love, G & G

Hey, Brodaaaan ! Each day your really creative, detailed and enjoyable art get amazinger' and amazinger'. Can't wait to see where you'll be and what you'll be doing twenty years from now . . . and whether or not you'll have a mustache! You make your Grampy really proud!

Oh my gosh! I wonder who could have made such a wonderful drawing! I can't imagine. There's no signature anywhere. Wait a minute. Yes, there it is! I'm just not used to signatures that are 10 FEET TALL! The artist must be Brodan! I think this is now my most favorite of all your artistic endeavors. I foresee fun and fame and fortune in your future! So keep the masterpieces coming! LOADS OF LOVE, Grammy (and Grampy)

Hi Brodan, This is a great picture! You covered all the territory for fall and Halloween -- the beautiful leaves, the super plump pumpkin, the nice big juicy apple, and my personal favorite, CANDY CORN ! Sorry you got rain for trick or treating. No fun, huh? Still, candy is candy wet or dry, right?! Luv ya! Grammy and Grampy

Hi Tristan, I was just looking at your whole gallery of wonderful pictures when I came across this one. I think it is my favorite, although all of them are my favorites! Right now, there are so many beautiful blooming trees here at the lake. Your picture looks like one called the Red Bud tree. We also have lots of Bradford Pear trees in bloom. They look like huge snowballs! I wish we had trees like yours growing in our yard. Of course, trees do make make a lot of leaves in the fall (zillions, I think). Would you like to come help us rake them up in October? Abner would love that. He can hide in the leaves, and we sometimes can't even find him! You could play hide and seek. He would win, though. Love you lots, Grampy and Grammy

Hi Brodan - What a creative combination of colors and concepts! Like so much of your art work it brings together neat colors and really interesting ideas. The beautiful rainbow - I guess you've seen a lot of them lately - with the super-imposed peace sign is a neat and appropriate combination of ideas, especially for Spring. The mix, with your constant Star Wars companions, makes for some thought provoking pleasure. Keep up the good work! Luv, Grampy

Hi Brodan -- I'm oh so glad you did this wonderful family portrait. Since we haven't seen you for almost 3 whole months, we almost forgot what you look like. Now we know exactly -- and you even put names on, so we'll know who's who. Aren't you the clever one! Right now it is snowing here at Lake Monticello -- well, it has been coming down, but it isn't sticking. Guess we won't be making any snowmen. Also, I have the ugly suspicion that it's turning into rain -- YIKES! Don't do that! LOVE YOU, G & G

Brodan, I’m just loving this snow selfie! I can see how much you like snow. It looks like you are daydreaming in the snow about snow. And that you want to eat some snow. Then...eat some more snow. And then have some snow for dessert! Love you, Mommy

Brodan, This looks so Dr. Seuss to me. The swirly wheels make me dizzy. I like the wacky names for places on your signs. Very colorful. This artwork reminds me of the Seuss story “The Zax”. Love, Mommy

Well howdy, Brodan -- This is one happy selfie! I'm wondering what you're thinking about. Maybe Christmas vacation, or a visit to Santa, or a brand new something-or-other under the tree, or maybe even a visit from your favorite golden retriever. He will be excited to see you, too. Better watch out though, 'cause he might try to steal all your Christmas cookies. Then your happy selfie might turn into a big old troll under a bridge waiting to gobble him up. (chuckle, chuckle) We will see you next week with some huge hugs and some mushy kisses! Love, Grammy and Grampy

Hi Brodan -- I just discovered this picture in your collecton -- and I love it. It is so colorful. LIke a cosy cafe and a tasty, toasty cup of hot chocolate. It doesn't show the snow outside, but I can imagine it. This might be my favorite picture so far. Hope you have lots of cocoa on hand when we come for Christmas. We are excited to see you. So is Abner. Luv, Grammy & Grampy.

Hi Brodan -- I like your picture very much. I suspect the tree is meant to be a Christmas tree. But no, that can't be. It isn't even Halloween yet! Shouldn't it be a pumpkin tree? What? There's no such thing? Well, why don't you invent one! Then you could be an inventor, just like Thomas Edison. And people would always remember that Brodan Chaffee invented the pumpkin tree! Ho, Ho, Ho!

Hi Brodan -- We just love your giant Easter egg! It must have come from one huge chicken. And, of course, it would take you weeks to eat it .. maybe months! Good thing it isn't full of chocolate -- is it? And it certainly is very colorful. Maybe you can get a job working for the Easter bunny next year. Love you lots!

OOOOOoooooohhhhh, Brodan, what delightful and creative pictures ! ! ! Although Easter will be long gone when you next visit us, maybe we can hide some eggs when we go on our picnic up at the playground. Your pumpkin picture was absolutely super (!), but 'my' favorite was the beautifully done penguin-snowman . . . ABSOLUTELY STUPENDOUS, really creative and really quite a mature piece of art! We can't wait until you visit us again . . . we'll have to do some art work together. Maybe we can work-up some pictures of the Colonial and Revolutionary War era. Luv your art !

Brodan - I 'luv the tree ! The detail, the textures and the colors, all are so nice. I was so impressed, I had to go back through your whole gallery, the pink trees, hand painted prints, the mittens, star wars, and even the jet flying towards the rainbow. Grammy and I are looking forward to yours and Tristan's visit . . . and will have a variety of art supplies and paper so you can *show* us how you create such nice artwork. Luv You and your art, Grampy

Hi Brodan -- This picture is so cool Your Mommy thinks it's like looking through a window. I think it looks like a Navajo rug hanging on a clothesline. Just think, your picture gives people different impressions about what the artist (you) intended. So, there are lots of different reasons for enjoying it. By the way, the Navajos are native Americans who specialize in weaving beautful rugs. Someday, I will show you a really old one. Keep creating! Love, Grammy

Hi Brodan -- I think I forgot to tell you how much I like your snow picture. It is perfect. Since we haven't had any real snow, at least I have your lovely picture to look at. At first I thought you had used marshmallows for snow (silly me). But then I thought, that can't be. If they really were, you would have eaten them all. So, I guess they were cotton balls, right? Love, Grammy

Hi Brodan -- I didn't see this picture before. It must have slipped in when I wasn't looking. It reminds me of our bird feeders -- the only part missing are the squirrels and deer who sort of hog all the food. Maybe you could include them in a future picture. I just love your artwork and look forward to lots more. Love, Grammy

Hi Brodan -- We love your mittens! They are beautiful. We're still hoping to get some snow here in Virginia this winter. If it does snow, I would love to wear a pair of mittens just like your picture. I bet people would think I was rather fancy in them, don't you think? Of course, I could wear them for Valentine's Day -- they would be right in style then, too. All our love, Grammy & Grampy
