Sophie, I see you are aware that you are in charge and have influence of the clay with the response of your fingers. The feeling that are in command of the clay gives you the confidence to attempt any project which opens the door to greater self expression and imagination. Clay also allows you to learn to repair mistakes and therefore not be afraid to make them. I am impressed with your talent of the dragon and flag in your black pottery castle. Very realistic. The sky seems angry and filled with wild storms. The water is churning. The little boat seems ill equipped to handle the high waves. The detail on the boats Is wonderful. Another wonderful piece of art. New email for Grandma. Sorry I missed the prior alerts for your other art. -- Katie

Sophie, your talent is exceptional for your age. Your father is a great artist, also. I wish we had this website when he was growing up because he did not always bring is talent home for the family to see during his childhood. This is such a rewarding way to see your talent, especially when we live in Missouri. Keep up the great work and imagination. -- Grandma Vicki

Beautiful and interesting. This drawing of this turtle is done so well. I want to know more about this turtle. What kind is it? What part of the world is its home? How long do turtles usually live? How long can this turtle stay under water? The flippers are perfect. The shell of this turtle looks like an exquisite pice of jewelry. -- Katie

I love this perspective of a pumpkin. Unusual and far more pleasing than the traditional view of a pumpkin. When I first saw this drawing, I thought it was your teachers example of what she wanted your class to attempt. How wonderful to discover that this well drawn pumpkin had been created by Sophie. I love this pumpkin and am very impressed with your artistic skills. Very well done, Sophie. -- Grandma Kate
