I think this is right up there with the owl. It is also much like Bohlen’s first portrait of a young man. My breath caught when I saw this. It is a Marcel. This might be my favorite Bohlen so far. His colors are ever wonderful whether bold and primary, or these more subdued, the touch of bright orange, just beautiful. All the great artists have one thing in commin -- an understanding of how colors work together in balance. Bohlen has always had a natural talent for color.
