Hello Amber! I am smiling at your wonderful snowman here, and thinking how you came to the Art Christmas Party the other night with your brother and dad! That sure was nice of your dad to take the time to come to school to see the sculpture and say hello to me, wasn't it? He is so busy with his job, but, I can see you and your brother are always FIRST on his mind. Gee, no wonder you're such a happy student! Also, I really appreciated his insightful comments about your art, and how eager he is to help you continue in your art studies. WHAT A FATHER, YOU HAVE, AMBER! I hope you remember to tell him: "THANK YOU, DAD!" I bet he would like to hear that as much as he loves looking at your art. Also, Amber, tell him to watch in this gallery for the photos of the sculpture he liked so much! Merry Christmas to you and yours, Amber! :) -- from Bayshore Art Teacher

Dear Amber, There are so many elements I like in this beautiful drawing. I will have to write you another message soon, because I won't be able to fit all my words about your picture on this message. But, to start, you did the actual assignment, which was to BLEND the colors. I really like the purple and blue colors you chose to blend for your sky, and the way you blended orange and yellow in your tree. It looks great when you blend colors! (But, some students are not accustomed to doing that, so, they don't even try it. However, they should try it in their pictures, since we spent so much time making our color wheels before this assignment, and mixing all those colors!) With your fabulous blended colors, and your smiling sun with sunglasses, I can tell you had a lot of fun making this fantastic picture, Amber! Is "fun" the reason "ART ROCKS?" :) -- from Bayshore Art Teacher

Dear Amber, Thank you so much for taking the time to draw this fantastic picture and give it to me. You did a terrific job drawing two different sizes of something -- the painter [who's large] and then, a painting of the same painter [smaller]! Great work! Also, I really like it when students tell me the subject I teach "ROCKS!" The reason I love it is because I know students like to "ROCK." And, so, if you realize school is a place where you CAN rock, then you will NEVER want to be absent from school! Plus, you may well discover every subject can ROCK! Yes, it's true, Amber! Did you know math, social studies, science, writing, reading, PE, music, and everything you do in school can "ROCK?" Why do you think I came to Bayshore, anyway? I only teach at schools where the students know how to ROCK! And, I see from this picture that you do! :) -- from Bayshore Art Teacher

Gee, Amber! I see you've received and posted messages about your fabulous snowman from all these people: your AUNT BONNIE, and your friends, Mary Ellen, Jim & Carolyn, Michelle, and Elizabeth. WOW! I think you know more people than I do!!!!! And, they all love seeing your art! Gosh! Maybe, with your parents' permission, you should write a letter to each of them, and send each of them a free musical e-card with your art. Perhaps you could thank them for signing your online Guestbook. And, then, they could print out the e-card on a color printer, and have a copy of your art! Let me know if you do that, Amber! Also, Remember to write in complete sentences and correctly spell every word! I know you can do it; you're in 4th grade!!! :) -- from Bayshore Art Teacher

Hi Amber, I am so glad you are posting messages about your very eye-catching snowman! I like your drawing because you alternated the red and green holiday colors, and added arms and buttons for details. Great job! Amber, by the way, over Thanksgiving and Christmas vacation, you may want to do some of the free and fun art activities I have listed on Bayshore's Art Club web page. Just scroll down to "Art Resources for Students" and then click on the links for online painting sites, coloring pages to print out, and drawing lessons! Also, visit the link labed "(8)" which is to the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC -- and, then, scroll down till you see: "Lizzie and Gordon Visit the Sculpture Garden." This is an online 30-minute musical movie that you will really enjoy! I showed it to some of my classes today, but I don't think you saw it yet. Tell me how you like it, and keep up your great work in class!!! -- from Bayshore Art Teacher
