And here I was thinking some medication might be in order. Actually, I say this as someone who's talent-free. Envy's got my tongue.

The artist's mouth being closed, and him leaning to one side (or appearance of that) conveys that he's a good natured observer.

As a lettering artist myself I am pleased to see the budding artist learning about type face, developing one's own font, etc. I can see this in the future as one of the selections in Microsoft Word.

What a wonderful shorthand for the artist! Was it purposeful that his face is slightly out of focus? Life can feel a blur some times, especially when you're moving so fast on the soccer field! (Good thing to keep shoe laces tied ;) )

Sophisticated, the way this self-portrait goes beyond the face to capture the stream of media influences on a person in the modern world...

What an interesting self-portrait! The layers of clippings, oil pastel work, and then marker are a physical representation of how in the current era we are bombarded by news - even sandwiched between it? The headphones on the artist feel like self-protection. Is this piece for sale? I have an interested buyer. (Serious)

Very striking. I can feel the breeze, the sky, and the slight disruption of the wake of the boat. The color shift in the painting as the viewer's eye moves left to right is so well executed - how did the artist do that? Uncle Bart will be particularly interested to learn about this when we get together over July 4, in order to inform his own technique.

This piece is intriguingly Jacob Lawrencian - and yet not. I hear it was inspired by the artist's love for and concern about the Maldives. I appreciate the artist bringing forward an underlying commentary on global warming via his art.

A striking piece in the use of positive and negative space. It's intriguing to me how many possible interpretations there are of this work. For me it spoke to mental illness and how you never know someone's burdens.

I love this collage. It's reflective, mat, and see-through, and both solid and fragmented.

Another super favorite - that I need to discuss more with the artist to understand fully. But on an emotional level I like it very much, even without that full understanding.

I know the person in this image appreciated the creativity so much. It honors her beautifully.

I love this image because I think it is giving greater power to the smaller person by giving that person the greater shadow. It's a very powerful image and I am keen to hear how the artist came up with the idea and how he interprets it!
