Dear Alianne, This also reminds me of a famous art work in the Walker Art Center garden. It is a horse made of wood, but then cast in metal. What fun that you should make an artwork like that. Some day when the weather is good again, maybe your Mom and Dad can take you to see it. You are really growing as an artist.. I only wish this site would allow you to tell us about what you have created.

Dear Alianne, Have you ever heard of Georgia O'Keefe? She was an artist who moved to the Southwest of our country and spent a lot of time drawing animal skulls. She did one called "Cow's Skull and Calico Roses" that is hanging in the Chicago Art Institute. Your picture reminds me of that. Very, very good work. The background reminds me of a native American blanket. Love, Grandma Audrey

Alliance, that is a great drawing. The background looks like some of the quilts you pieced together. The skull really looks authentic. I .think this is a wonderful drawing. :-)

Alliance, you did such a good job with your drawing. This girl must like spiders as she doesn't look scared at all. Grandpa and I both enjoy all your pictures. Keep up the good work. Love, Grandpa Gilbert and Grandma Judy

Hmmmm....I'm getting very scared about the spider and worm sneaking up on the planted child. I'm going to have to read some of your new books....

What a good job you did following instructions while, at the same time, adding your own creativity! Congratulations.

Alianne, I can see that your weaving skills have grown. Colors are excellent and the weave is nice and tight. Congratulations on such good work. Lots of love, Grandma Audrey

Alianne—wow! That’s quite a swimming pool, and a very pretty beach and picnic towel you’re sitting on. Or is that a stuffed toy and you’re in the meadow picking flowers? And is that Daddy riding down the hill on his lawnmower? I love the colors! But I love YOU even more! Grampa

Hey, Alianne! Nice Flutter-by! I especially like her antennae and her eyebrows. :) Thank goodness you have more artistic talent than your parents. (Ask to see your mom's "Cow in a Pasture" sometime.) Love you!

Love the contrast between the orange of the pumpkin and the black of the starry night. Excellent work! Keep it up.

Alianne, I think this art work is great. It reminds me of the birds, not the bugs, that I want to come to the bird feeders your mom hug at the lake. I hope I get some birds as pretty and decorative as your picture. Right now, there isn't a bird in sight except yesterday I did see 1 crow. I'm sure I won't see any bird as pretty as you drew your picture. That is a great picture. Love, Grandma Judy

Great Halloween painting, Alianne! I like the bright color of the pumpkin against the dark night. It makes me feel like I'm taking a midnight walk.... Lots of Love, Mom
