Wow -- I never did learn how to do perspective. This is so cool. Have you ever thought about becoming an architect? I think you'd be great at it. -- Laurie

Well, first, it's great to see your lovely self. And second, I want to know about the textured background. How was that done?? -- Laurie

I'm drinking some orange-spice tea right now, in the middle of a snowstorm, but it didn't come from anything as cool-looking as this :-) -- Laurie

Chapin, I just finished copyediting the text for a wall calendar of interesting "collectible-quality" teapots for one of my publishing clients, and I think yours would fit right in! Are you a tea drinker? I am -- especially in the winter. Great job :-) -- Laurie

How cool is this?? I'm just now seeing it for the first time. Did you use someone you know as a model? -- Laurie

The perspective on this one is really well done -- I'm impressed! I never learned how to work with foreground and background to give dimension, so I admire your skill. I also like the contrast between the lighted windows of the building and the more muted trees and building on the right. Love, -- Aunt Laurie

I love this, Chapin. Maybe someday when you visit us here in Maine, we can go over to the university and see Professor Bernie. He's a world-class papermaker and teaches classes in papermaking and bookmaking. He even has some work exhibited in the Smithsonian in Washington, DC. I'd love to hear how you made this, and hope you enjoyed it. The soft colors are especially unusual. -- Laurie

I love going to the Giant Eagle near your house! It's much bigger than the grocery store in our small town, so I get to see different kinds of food that I don't get to see or buy here. All the detail in your picture reminds me of how much is in that store. And I like the way the women are dressed. Nice touch :-) Love you. -- Laurie

I love the shape of this piece -- it seems very touchable -- and the contrast between the shiny and matte textures. -- Laurie
