Dear Daniel, I love, love, LOVE your turtle!! Wonderful creativity and so colorful! In fact, I loved it so much, that I had your turtle put on a T-shirt, and I should receive it very soon. Can't wait to wear it while I'm out working in my garden so my neighbors can see it, too. Thanks, Daniel, for sharing your super talent with all of us. You can be so proud. Keep up the good work!! Love to you and your family.

Dear Daniel, Your colorful design reflects the great sense of balance you have as well as the pleasant shapes that remind us of stained glass windows of a church. We also see subtle patterns in some of the shapes that encourage us to look for a longer time. Well done, Daniel!! Grandma and Grandpa

Hi Daniel--what an advanced sense of space you have! The cactus pot is tilted very accurately and the parts of the plant show great observation of detail. The open spaces are also very well drawn. Perhaps there can be a series of a variety of plants you could draw since this was done so beautifully. Grandma and Grandpa Benson in Eau Claire WI

Hi Daniel! WOW! I really LOVE your picture of the cactus...SOOOO realistic looking with the different cactus shapes and shades of green. I could immediately see shadows and depth in your picture. I also liked the pot holding the cactus and the wonderful highlight down the front. Keep up the good work!!!

Daniel-I LOVE this cat! I really like the way you used the blue and green colors. Great work buddy! Love Mom

Daniel - What a grand cat! I looks like you worked really hard on coloring the inside part of the cat. I like all of the cool colors you used - I see blue, green and looks like a little bit of purple? I think you did a great job on the shape of the nose. A cat nose is hard to draw. The expression on your cats face is also well done. When I look at the face, I can imagine all sorts of things the cat go into. It looks like it is running fast, away from something that is behind it, maybe a big dog! :) I also like the cat paws. Did you also stamp on top of it? It looks like you made a tool, dipped it into some maroon paint and added a pattern all around it, and added texture on the cat's fur. I also like the outline around the cat, did you use colored glue for that or markers? Nice job my nephew!~ Keep up the great work! I really enjoy seeing all you do and how much you continue to learn as an artist! Way to go! Miss you lots! Auntie Jojo

Dear Daniel - Your water lily artwork is very life like! Did you use orange tissue paper on the bottom of your artwork? that orange lily flower looks three-dimensional. The blue and purple background makes the green and orange/yellow parts stand out a lot! I like all the layers of color you used. Did you enjoy making the art? I also like your use of shadows! Well Done Daniel. Keep up the good work!

Nice Work Daniel! I like the orange and blue together...those are called complementary colors, and make the lily pads really stand out! I also like the different light and dark values you used too. The different like and dark colors give your picture some depth - it makes it look like the lily pads are 3-D! Did you learn a few things about the Artist Claude Monet? Did you use chalk or oil pastels for this artwork? I hope you enjoyed making the art! :) Keep up the great work young artist! Looks great! -Auntie JoJo

Daniel--Your most recent "Monet" work brought to mind our actual visit to his gardens in Giverny, France. Then, when in Paris, we saw huge paintings in a rotunda of Monet's that were close in feeling to yours, with the rich blue background. Each of those lilies could represent a member of your family! We hope one day you will be able to visit France to see Monet's work in person. Grandpa just had one of his paintings chosen for an art contest called Wisconsin Arts West--just so you know that Grandpa is trying to keep up with you, Daniel!

Daniel...what a great surprise today after school when I was looking through my email, your name popped up and so did you newest art creation. WOW! Your "Mexican Bark Painting" inspired picture is wonderful! What did you learning about Mexican Bark Paining? You'll have to give me a call and tell me about it! :) I like where you decided to place all of the objects in your picture. I REALLY like all the birds because they are all just a bit different. I like the ways their heads are turning and looking in many places. The colors are so bright and lively! Nice expression. There is also a sense of motion or movement in your picture. Well Done young artist! Keep up the great work, your Auntie Johanna is very proud of you! Miss you!!

Hello, Daniel We like your balanced composition. Your clouds are the ones we like to see--some sky, some clouds. Your work shows it comes from a happy lad who sees the world around him with special eyes looking into the world God keeps renewing with possibilities. We look forward to seeing more of your creative ideas in the months ahead.

Daniel, I am very proud of you! I like the balance in you piece of artwork. I also like the details, like the tire swing, the cow's face and the turtle. The sun and the clouds are wonderful too. How long did this art work take you? The color that you added to the piece is also very well done. I can tell that you took your time and really though about what colors were going to be place where. I also like the border around the edge of your artwork. What things did you learn about Folk-Art? Have you ever hear of the artist Grandma Moses? She created folk art too. You are a great artist Daniel, and I will look forward to seeing more artwork! Take Care, Auntie Johanna
