Dear Matthew, Your construction of an oil platform is really impressive. The design looks solid, and I'd bet that a real one copied from your design could withstand hurricane winds and high waves. You keep amazing me with what you can do.

Hi Matthew, I saw a copy of your "silly cityscapes" Drawing in my email, and I can't stop looking at it. It really is fun and makes me smile. I'm amazed that you can do that. You have a wonderful sense of humor and it is evident in this artwork. Nicely done.

Dear Matthew, You continue to amaze me with your fine artwork. The sculpture of a "bird at home" is exactly the kind of representation that makes me appreciate nature and the outdoors. I can hardly wait to see it on display at your house.

Dear Matthew, I really like your orange "Cool Cat!" Did you give it a name yet? Is it a friendly cat that I can imagine playing with when I visit you, or is it a a more reserved feline? Most cats are very independent, but sometimes enjoy being petted. What does your "Cool Cat" prefer? I'm also interested in the background you painted. Does the green represent grass? And what about the blue highlights; are they flowers? Is "Cool Cat" posing on your lawn? Anyway, I'm really enjoying thinking about your picture, and I hope to see the original when I visit in May. Love, Grandma

Dear Matthew, Of all your art work, I like this best. I can see the figure of very beautful lady who is getting ready to go to a formal ball. Might have you thought about the same thing when yon created it? Love. Lola

Dear Matthew, This drawing is an excellent representation of a starry winter night in New Hampshire. I can almost feel the swirling wind and snow even here in Florida. It looks like the kind of night where people like to cozy up to a warm fireplace while reading a good book or playing family games. In fact, it appears as if there is smoke coming out of the chimneys, so I guess the families are staying warm together inside their colorful homes. Even the snow on the evergreen tree makes everything seem more like winter. It's a wonderful picture! Love, Grandma

Matthew, I love this owl that you made! Do you know that owls are considered good luck in some cultures? I definitely think that this is a good luck owl, and I can't wait to see the original when I visit you. I do hope that you continue with your artwork, and I look forward to seeing your future creations. Love, Grandma

I hadn't seen last year's "Fish Collage" artwork until just now. I really like it because it makes me feel like I am underwater with a snorkel and facemask enjoying watching the beautifully colored fish as they swim around looking for food.

I'm glad that you are learning about robots and robotics. Your colorful robot looks like it has all the tools it needs to build a house. The printed background of your picture is interesting, too. What a good imagination you have.

Daydreaming is fun. Marc Chagall is one of my favorite artists. Your artwork looks like the sun shining in through one if his stained glass windows. I especially like where you placed the colors. Terrific work.

Dear Matthew, I am very impressed by the images and imagination of this "fish" artwork. The blend of shapes and colors are very interesting, and I hope that I will get to view your original piece when I come to visit. I would love to order notecards with this design and send them to my friends, so that they can see what an original artist you are becoming. With love, Grandma

I looked at this artwork and liked it right away, of course, and then I saw the cat. What a great idea to include the cat. The colors and designs make me believe that the boy will have pleasant dreams.

Dear Matthew, I really like your drawing of this smiling boy and his very colorful outfit. It makes me happy just looking at your picture, and it reminds me of the wonderful time I had with you and the family at Disney World. I especially enjoyed going on the Buzz Lightyear Ride with you, and I am still impressed by your excellent scores! You and I were both smiling when we finished the ride and enjoyed delicious ice cream cones together. Do you think this boy in your picture is happy because he went to Disney World too? I can't wait to be with you and celebrate your birthday in a few months! Love, Grandma

Hi Matthew, I saw your Painted Paper Collage online and want to tell you how much I like it. The artwork looks strong with the tall, straight trees and the sturdy house. I get the feeling that it could be almost nighttime in the picture. Am I right? Do I see a car in the drivway, and something in the sky? I hope you will tell me the story of everything that is happening in the picture.

Dear Matthew, I really like your "Magic" Man sculpture. He reminds me a little of a gingerbread man, and I almost expect him to sit, stand, and start running around. I love the bright colors of his clothing, and the funny hat on his head. I hope you continue with your artwork and I can't wait to see more of your art when I visit next month. Love, Grandma
