I wish I could see this weaving in person so I could tell what size it is. I can imagine it as a Christmas ornament or a wall hanging. It would be lovely as either. You have a good eye for color.

Alistair, so now you're into weaving! That's a very pretty piece. I especially like the blue--such a pretty shade of blue, and one of my favorite colors. Grandma Eleanor and I are looking forward to visiting you in late May and hope we get to see some of your art--the "real things." Hi to your Mom and Dad, and hi to you from Grandma El. Love, Grandpa Jim.

Alistair, did you know that GG and your Greatgrandfather Bob owned a houseboat on the Mississippi River? When I was in high school and a bit older we used to go to the River on weekends. It was sort of like camping on a boat. When your Uncle Matt was a baby, he got to ride on the houseboat. I like your picture. It brought back a lot of memories!

There must be a good story that goes with this under the sea picture. I'd like to hear about it!

I have some questions about your picture "cave art ". This is very interesting. I can imagine this drawing inside a cave and wondered if that is how you, too, saw this drawing? I like how you use very earthy brown tones in this picture because it really makes me think of being in a cave. Do you remember our hike in the Maquoketa Caves? I wonder if there were any cave drawings there?

I see that you made four different-colored columns with the water colors. With 26 letters, the bottom row has six letters and the other rows only have five. Your design is so neat and organized. Love you!
