Madeline, What a lovely lion! I really like how the colors in the face are so bold - and beautifully contrasting - while the mane is feathered so softly that it looks just like a lion's hair. What a wonderfully cacophonous blast of colors and shapes, Madeline! The wavy lines are like steam coming from the mug - creative! I also like how the coloring isn't precise - it's sort of slapdash and carefree - like it's a jazzy moment. Very nice, Madeline! You used different brushstrokes and textures to show different types of growing things - very clever. I also love the pop of red at the bottom that encourages the person admiring the painting to look through the whole picture.
