This looks very realistic. The 3 dimentions are most apparent at the edges- good job! For some reason, those few red lines catch my eye the most. The shadow effect on the second pages is really good. The image I had to look at was too small to read the message- but I really wanted to- after all- it was an SOS (Save Our Ship) message! Good job- keep up the great work!

This is amazing and so realistic! I love the dimension!

Fantastic! what an illusion and trick to the eye. I like your sensitivity to a soft heart. Rather than have straight lines, you carefully curved them on the heart to give the appearance of a fuller heart, a round one, a soft heart. That effect makes the heart "jump out" of the pattern, look real and very meaningful. I saw the contrast of the finish winner's flag used in car racing and the finish of a real human relationship- LOVE. One is very fast black and white while the other is slower, softer, and much more complex. Her in your picture, the heart is three dimensional and real over the the rather plain, flat black and white flag of the mechanical world. Incidentally- I love it!

All the action at the bottom is so interesting yet peaceful at the same time! It really looks three demintional there- especially that evergreen tree with the snow. Well done!

I've never seen the Northern Lights but I imagine them to look just like this, Multicolored, wavy- in with the stars. Must be the north with that snow on the Christmas tree on the bottom. I like all the interesting things you paces on the earth- but my eyes can't leave those rainbow colored lights floating whimsically in the night sky.

Wow- this image is exactly what I think of when I hear "sneaky as a fox!" From out of the near darkness the fox "floats over the horizon" so nothing can see or hear him. He's crouched ready to attach at just the right time. The colors are great- that orange next to the blue- nice.

Your stunning profile reminds me of Aunt Jeanne. Perhaps we can show her the resemblance at Toledo Bend.

Great portrait! I love the distinguished profile. The swirls add demension to what would normally be a boring background. And oh! That purple crown! The color of Royalty! It contrasts so well with the blond hair and red gown. Brilliant!

A great example of early Mola art. The added detail of all the x's and dots made this authentic. I especially like the three circles of color around your animal. The colors you chose are especially Mola art- the bright pin ks and yellows blend with the natural earth colors of brown, green and black.

Wow! This one is one of your best yet. The detail and the shading make this one special. I especially like how you layer the flower petals with some on top and some underneath. The shading of each petal made this picture very good- some were very red and some were pinkish. That made me look at every petal because they were all different! That light green color in the back is perfect complement to the red petals. The various shading you applied to the green was a nice touch. My favorite was the darker green in the bottom right. A very nice picture, I can't wait to get it on the wall of the Hall of Fame.

I like the patience you have drawing each individual corn grain- then coloring each with separate colors. The brown pollen stems coming out the top in realistic. I especially like the deep purple (one on my favorite colors!) background, it's not distracting and make me focus on the subject- Indian corn.

Benett, This great piece of art is just in time for the holiday season. I love your shading. It makes the flower look so real. This is your best art work yet. YAYA

This is a very scary picture of a very thin, spooky, long tailed big eyed cat. I love the stripes on the cat's body but especially the thin stripes on his neck. Of course, that long tail with stripes matches everything with the thin white stripes in both ears ties it all together. That big white face is brilliant as it really emphasizes the cat's large suspicious eyes. They make me wonder what this cat is about to do...to ME! Keep up the good work. Gee

SPOOKY!! The spider just hanging there waiting to attack is one thing, but the teeth and eyes on that ghost like creature is really frightening. I am definitely not going inside that place no matter how good the candy is! From an artistic point of view- it becomes extra spooky because it's in black and white colors only. It's like everything is dead. I like this one- especially for Halloween. Gee

A big heart with love on it- reminds me of you! Another slightly larger red heart behind the white one.

I like your rich landscape! Reminds me of a how Texas summer day. Red hilly ground with a lighter red sky. The white clouds with blue specks are hopeful of shade and maybe some rain. I foud the deep red cloud on the upper right hand side a little scary-like a toranado or something. I like the white dots on the ground. I'm thinking the black and grey image is a road leading to the village. I like it!

This is the most complicated picture you have ever done in class. It shows how much better you are getting at expressing yourself. Your methods are much better also. That background was fantastic! The dull red with lime green lines was fasinating. What I liked most was the red-orange and pink colors. Rather than have sharp lines you sort of blended the orange and pink together. Nice work. I liked how the yellowwhen outside the dark black lines. It is the center of the picture to meand tells me the rules are different in this picture. that top hat with green dots was great. I'd like to get one for Mardi Gras! The blue "stars" on top was a nice effect. Something special is going on here. Gee

Wow! I love the mixture of various shades of colors along with the mix of vertical and horizontal lines' The green on green horizontal stripes reminded me of a watermelon! The black base gave the entire picture a sense of solidness. Something sitting on something. I liked that better than something just floating in space. The different vertical colors on the edges gave youtr picture a feeling of shapes and roundness. Keep up the good work! Gee

Wow- my favorite! Looks so delicate and real. The colors are so vivid nd alive- that green, the color of the flower, and the non-color of the translucent wings make it look so real- like it's right there flying. I might see this same thing tomorrow in my garden! This sculpture made me feel good- like the first day of spring. Flowers blooming, insects flying, and me just looking and being happy. Life is Good and your sculpture shows it.

This is the most complex and abstract art of all that you have done so far. I get the green plant with small flowers the blue sky, but don't know what the gold cube and two black boxes are. And what's that black box with the green grass and little legs? ?Also wondering about the small "leaves: on the bottom of the stem and that gold thing (a bird?) on the left side above the first stem. It is really neat how you framed the picture with the dark blue upper sky and the light blue on the bottom and the brown earth on the bottom. I like that. The three dimentional effect of the gold around the box (house?) is real neat.

This cat looks too tame to be an LSU tiger, so I'm thinking it's a housecat. That pink nose looks like a little heart-kinda makes me like the cat even more. Much better than a circle. Like the variation of red colors on the cat's face- not boring like one solid color- good technique. My eye is drawn to that little black line on the tongue. Makes the cat look happy to me, and maybe hungry also. So what's up with that one crooked eye? One straight up and the other sideways. Maybe it's looking for some dinner.

Every time I see this picture I like it more. The bright colors of yellow, red, orange and blue make it come alive. I think it's the way you put them next to each other- pretty neat. And that lime green on the hands just jump out at me. Wow!

Benett- this picture is so real! That sky with the layered pink and orange looks like a beautiful sunset and your choice of the blue, greys and purple for the sea is also very realistic. Those boats have so much detail they looks exactly like warrior ships of long ago! And I especially like the flags (pennants) you put on the bow of the ships- just like real life. Is that a crows nest on the middle masks of the ship in front? Cool! So what's the three circles in the sky? And the red dot in the front? Picture on my computer was small so I couldn't quite make that out. Keep painting. Hope you can bring them to the science room hall of fame!
