This story picture has both tension and relaxation! The beautiful rainbow sky bubble invites me to stretch out on the beach towel. But the shark's tail gives me a shiver and tells me to beware of danger in the water. Very cool concept!

This bug is just fabulous! I think he would glow in the dark! The eyes and legs are so realistic, and I think he would unfold those wings and fly away if he sensed danger. Something about the way you made the legs makes me think he is in motion across the page! Oma Miriam

Very interesting background! I would love to have a piece of fabric with this print - it would make a beautiful red silk scarf to wear with my black suit! - Oma

You got the idea here! Your castle is symmetrical - with so much detail - even curtains in the center window. I really like the swirly cones on top and above the door contrasting with the straight cones in the center. The addition of mountains in the background and a beautifully drawn unicorn complete your cool secluded castle - blues and purples were just the right colors for the cool feeling. I wish to visit this castle and be a queen for a day!

What a busy spider to spin such a delicate and intricate web. You put a lot of work into this picture and it really sparks my imagination. I just love how you hid your name in the web! You are very creative and left some blank spots to let me know the web was a work in progress. - and the open spaces create a restful frame allowing the detail to pop all the more. Nice contrast and balance of rest and tension. Oma (Miriam)

Hey, all they need is a Christmas tree to rock around. The energy and motion of your dancers reminds me of you. Great ideas for movement. If I listen really hard I hear dancing music playing - you captured the assignment with a creative burst of joy! Oma

I really am drawn to the flower and star above your name. They seem peaceful amidst all the scribbles. I also like the way you made the letters for your name and colored them to stand out in relaxing pastels. Oma

This pot has energy in the spirals around the side. Your use of a spiral on the bottom gives unity to the piece. Perhaps you can use this piece to hold a special little rock, shell or piece of jewelry on your dresser.

This is very whimsical. The blurry chemical concoctions sending out bubbles from the beakers. I like the way you brought the beakers to the front, but making them hide some of the bubbles. Very dimensional. Great color choices - effective on the black background.

The eyes tell me that this American princess is in a fantasy world, and has visions of candies and gummy worms dancing in her mind. You are good at drawing realistic faces. What a creative hair do - I don't think she likes the bug dancing on her pony tail!

This little animal is just too cute! His/her expression is loving, and sweet. He/she just pops off the page right into my heart. Adorable and so alive with love. Framing it with the one ear outside the line is so effective. Oma

Katherine - you have done it again! Another wonderful drawing. The curved lines and shading give depth and make your pumpkin look real. Be sure and thank your art teacher for her inspiration and teaching you the fundamentals. With these tools you will be able to better express yourself through art. Oma

I thought that you had used a camera and photographed plastic candy canes, but Opa shared that you had actually shaded these, and that it had taken lots of time and effort. Your dimensional look is so effective. You certainly have artistic talent and are using it beautifully. The color combinations for each cane are effective too. Keep developing your skills. You really have potential!!

Now this is quite interesting. The opposites of the heat of day and the cool of night come through in this burst of color and temperature. The snow capped mountains will be affected by the sun and moon. I feel like the moon's eye is looking right at me! Gives me a chill! Oma
