I love this one too! I appreciate the expressions you capture on the two fellows. In addition to their face expressions, the position of their heads and shoulders add to their moods. I say plural in mood(s), because they are clearly not feeling the same...as an observer, I am left to wonder about that..especially with that birthday banner, hmm...that fancy, colorful hat in the background is having the party...the guy in the blue shirt is having fun, but he's being careful how he shows it, hopefully his fun is contagious :-)

This piece is so great. The background shapes are so intriguing, there is movement and interest without dominating your lovely portrait. I love the blue, it's a happy color and yet calms. The reds and yellows, black and white contrast somehow just enhance your figure's dark shirt, & the dark shape in the background actually brings balance with her shirt...Her hair is nice as well, there is depth with the colors and movement as well. nice job!

Kayla, I have enjoyed looking at all your pieces. Love your watercolor work, I wonder how you feel about working with watercolor? The blue profile is very nice, you let the watercolor do some work. Your still life apple is amazing, I enjoy all the colors you used, that is real life, there is more than just a green color going on and you captured that. Is the paper airplane piece crayon? or pastel or colored pencil? It is a lot of fun, and again, I like the colors and shading in the blue sky and ground below. This pic also has a nice 3-D look.
