Catie, this is a beautiful artwork. I do not see any cracks. I just see a beautifully created bird nest. I truly appreciate you, and your artwork shows amazing talent & skill. I love you with all my heart, Grandma Gerri

Sorry I missed this one. Probably went on line during your spring break. Proves that fancy materials aren't necessary to make an interesting piece. Love from GDPH!

Hi Catie! Very nice work! Great detail. I can see the sticks and twigs along the rim, I can't detect the crack, maybe it is the picture or my changing eyesight. Wonderful color scheme. You probably know that robins lay blue eggs. They would be camouflaged for safety in the bottom of the nest. I'm guessing that this will be the last one for this school year. I hope that you will have art work that I will be able to see online next year. My love to you!

Hi, Catie: I am marveling at your pretty bird's nest. It is more than pretty, though. I think it is beautiful. Did you create it from clay? How did you get the crackle effect on the bottom of the nest? It's a very special creation from the mind of a very talented person. I just love it, and I love you more than I can express!!!! XOXO, Grandma Vicky

I am so pleased to see your beautiful gem, but I don't know why you don't like the scribes. They make your piece look like stained glass. Maybe someday you will consider reinterpreting this artwork into stained glass. I hope so because the piece is just so stunning and having sunlight reflect through it would be breathtaking. You continue to amaze me with your artistic gifts!!! Much love and lots of hugs, Grandma Vicky

Hello! Sorry I did not see the e-mail for more than a week. Very interesting! One time when you look at it, a triangle appears to point upward, then next time you look, it's pointing down. It seems like setting up the scribes to give it depth would be really hard to plan and draw. I'd like to hear how you did it. So, I think its really beautiful and great work! Love you and miss you very much!

Catie, I am so happy to see another post of your art on artsonia! I love animals, too especially birds and also dogs, cats, monkeys, elephants... This cardinal & blue bird landscape picture is wonderful! I love how you included food for them. I love you sooo much! Grandma Gerri

- on December 14, 2016
Hi, Catie! I love the birds! I'm guessing that the red one is a cardinal because of its color and the crest of feathers on its head. Is the other a bluebird? I know that the colors suggests that, but I don't recall what part of a bluebird is blue and what part isn't. I'm so happy that I can see your artwork on the internet! Love, hugs and kisses from Granddad

Hi, Catie: It sure was fun spending time with you and Abby. You are just the BEST. And, speaking of best, your grade 4 Wow Work really is wonderful. The spiral is eye-catching and beautiful. It definitely has that Wow factor. I love seeing your artwork, and I LOVE YOU!!! Grandma Vicky

First time that I have seen this one and the other of a smaller turtle. They are 4th grade work, right? I don't know why I didn't get the normal notification. Just like the spiral, this is an intricate work requiring a lot of patience and careful hand work. It's great! Granddad

Hi, Catie! I love your spiral! I can see just how much time and concentration it took for you to make such neat circles. The colors you picked are bright and go together well. Interesting that it can be viewed three dimensionally --that it is spiraling down to the center from the outside or that the center is the top and the circles spread out to the edges. Your work has always been great. It is getting even better as you get older. Love from your Granddad!!!!

Your Rainbow Mermaid is great! Wonderful proportions. It doesn't look like she has earrings, though? Probably no way for her to get her ears pierced underwater. Keep up the great work! I'm wondering what your next subject will be.

Hi, Catie: When I see your beautiful cup containing what I think of as steamy coffee, I want to go to Starbucks and share a latte with you. You have created a most exciting and interesting decorative cup that invites the viewer to have a nice, hot drink. Perfect! You did an exceptional job! Much love, Grandma Vicky

Wow!!! Looks like a very tasty, hot cup of something good. Coffee?? Hot chocolate?? Great for Granddad Chocolate. (I can't say "poopy" anymore! That was the last time!!! Well......., maybe not.) The steam is very realistic. The background is very colorful. Next time we get together, maybe we could go to one of those pottery places so you could turn your picture into a real cup. If you get the chance to do itsooner, you don't have to wait from Grandma Vicky and me. Keep up the very creative work! Love, Granddad

Wow! Elie is a scary elephant! The eyes look very life-like -- I'm guessing marbles? And the black circles around the eyes!! Don't take this girl out on Halloween night, she will scare everyone too much! Throwing clay and glazing pottery is an intriguing activity for me. I've never done it. Grandma Vicky has. Wow! Very colorful and interesting! I like all the components! What is the green area behind the girl/woman? Is that a laptop computer on the table with the word "TEXT" on the screen? I'm sorry that I can't see it in person right now because the picture online is two-dimensional and I'm sure that your work is three-dimensions. Hope that you can show it to me when Grandma Vicky and I come to visit I'm looking forward to seeing your next effort. Love, Granddad

Hi, Catie! I love the beautiful leaves that look to be blowing in the wind. Each one has a different shape, which means they must come from different trees. Did your preparation to draw them involve research about different trees and their leaves? The red one looks like the leaves that are falling now at our office that come from oaks. The big orange one looks like a maple to me. I'm uncertain about the rest. You can probably tell that I'm very interested in trees. I'm beginning to think that I have not been getting e-mail notices about your new art this year. I'm going to check that out. Keep up the beautiful work! Love from your Granddad!!!! XOXOXO

Catie, oh, what a lovely art creation. I love your imaginary "butterfly" It is really great and very creative. I also love the beautiful flower you created for it and I think the yellow hive you drew on the tree may be its home OR it could be the home of lots of bees. In your art you stimulate imagination in your viewers minds. What an awesome gift you have! I love you! Grandma Gerri

Good morning, Catie! It was very nice to Skype with you all last night. This is another beautiful work! Your imaginary animal is very creative! The colors you have used make the animal (maybe something like a butterfly?) very unique. Everything else about the drawing is really good, too. Grass, flower, tree, sky and sun are perfect! I hope that we will be able to your artwork next year when you have a different teacher and are in a new grade. See you in San Diego, and before by Skype. Granddad
