Wonderful winter scene. That is what my house looks like so far this winter - at least the amount of snow.

Hi Tristan, Well, you've really done it this time! I am totally captivated by the designs on the orange panels of your pumpkin. The detail is amazing and wonderfully creative; neat background design, too. And to think I am lucky enough to be Grammy of Tristan-the-artist and Tristan-the-musician! It is great fun watching you grow. Love, G & |G

Hi, Tristan What a neat surprise your painting is! I just bought some yarn today that has the exact same colors in it. I am planning to make a nice winter scarf out of it. Besides the perfect colors, I really like the contemporary design. Hmm... Maybe you better think about keeping this one. It may be worth a fortune someday! ?? Love, G & G

Wow! There's a lot going on in this picture, Tristan! Seems like the little guys have taken control of the situation. If they are the good guys, I guess that's a good thing. If not, yikes! Great imagination in the detail. Grampy and I are very impressed! You have a wonderful gallery. All our love, G and G

Wow, Tristan. This is an amazing action drawing! You really captured the speed of the lion and the quick response of his prey. Maybe you can draw a picture of Abner catching a ball in mid-air. Can you believe he is already 10 years old and can still do that? Yup! Love and hugs, Grammy and Grampy

Hi Tristan, Is this a mountain with an airport on top of it? With windows in the mountain? Looks like the weather is not so great??. I don’t think I would want to be on top of that mountain??. Love, Mommy

Luv your flowers, Tristan! The early daffodils seem to be celebrating Spring . . . and you've captured their beauty, excitement and happiness beautifully. I guess, like you, they've really had a wet beginning of the year . . . and they don't even get to jump into puddles like you, but they sure seem happy. You've really done a nice job of artistically capturing the colors, happiness and energy of Spring. Can't wait to see what colorful images you'll be collecting . . . once the rain stops. Keep up the good work. Eggplant! Luv, Grampy.

Hi Tristan -- I would like to know a lot more about your picture. The colors are so vibrant and colorful -- I think of a forest fire in the background and trees in its path. On the other hand, it could be atmosphere on a faraway planet, maybe Mars -- since they call it the 'Red Planet'. The black pattern in the upper right corner is quite intriguing -- are those SNAKES? Yes, I think they are. Hmm, snakes on Mars? Anyway, I like it very much. LOVE, G & G

Ha! What a great contemporary looking x-mas tree. Is that Lila poking her head out and knocking ornaments off the tree? Did Santa trip or something somewhere out of view? Dow! Must be dark. Great art! Love, Mommy

This is so cool Tristan! There is so much going on and yet it’s sort of minimalistic. So many colors too. I really like this. What music were you listening to when you did this? Love, Mommy

Hi Tristan -- I think I tried to send an earlier comment to you about your Christmas tree picture, but I may have goofed it up. Anyway, your tree is beautifully decorated. There are some things around the tree that could be symbolic of your wish list. I'm pretty sure Santa understands what you're wishing for, so I wouldn't worry about it. But just in case he doesn't, you could whisper it in my ear when we arrive there next week. Or you could whisper it in Abner's ear, and he can tell me. We can't wait to see you and give you lots of giant hugs. Love, Grammy and Grampy

aaarrrggg ! ! ! Tristan, I really don't know which of your pictures and art craft projects is the neatest. I love them ALL! When you next visit us, we'll have to go on a picnic, like the one in your picture. The pumpkins and spooks picture was *really* well done. And, although you had your blonde hair hidden, I KNEW THE SELF PORTRAIT WAS YOU . . . because Grammy and I have the photo your Mom sent us. I guess we'll have to get some larger paper and more paint when you come . . . 'cause I know your feet will be getting bigger, and we'll want to make some 'shoe fish' while you're here. Can't wait to see you . . . and besides going out on the boat, doing the playground and picnicing WE'LL HAVE TO DO SOME ART WHILE YOU'RE HERE. lUV YOUR ART WORK ! ! !

Did you name all the cute little ghosts in your picture? A couple pumpkins that big must have needed a lot of garden fertilizer. Great picture, Tristan! You are a good artist already! Love, Grama and Grampa

Hey Tristan, What a warm, loving piece of art. It makes my heart fly! Love, Mommy

Hi Tristan -- I really love this picture. They look like heart-shaped butterflies floating up into a pink sky. Maybe they are kites, but I don't see any strings or tails. I especially like the ones that look like little beaded hearts. It's fun to see how you can make such a beautiful picture out of simple shapes, sizes, and colors. Love, Grammy

Hi Tristan -- I think this is the most wonderful snowman I've ever seen. His eyes are a little spooky, but that's what makes him fun. And the snowflakes are beautiful. A snowman probably loves snowflakes, because as long as they keep falling, it will be cold enough to keep him from melting. Of course, you can always make a new snowman every time it snows again. By the way, a man named Mr. Bentley lived in the state of Vermont, where it is very, very cold and snows lots and lots and lots in the winter. Mr. Bentley loved snowflakes so much that he decided to study them. He found out that every single snowflake has a different pattern -- even though each one always has 8 points. Because of his research, they nicknamed him "Snowflake Bentley". Next time it snows, try to find some fresh snowflakes, put them on a black background, and look at them through a magnifying glass. Maybe you'll find one that looks like one in your picture. Have fun! Love, Grammy

Gee, Tristan, your art work just gets more interesting and more creative. We'd really love to have you tell us about some of the details of the picture . . . it's both spooky and really cute . . . like a bird-pumpkin looking you straight in the eye. We LUUUUUUVed it ! On our Christmas visit you'll have to give us some of your ideas behind the picture. Happy Halloween . . . again . . . and save us a few bites of candy. All our love,

Hi Tristan -- I love your pirate-pumpkin scarecrow. What a wonderful imagination you have. He looks so happy that I can almost hear him laughing. If your teacher asks you to draw a picture of a happy dog, maybe you could make him look like Abner. Halloween is almost here. Just remember, if you eat too much candy, you might explode! (chuckle, chuckle) Love you -- Grammy

Oh, Tristan ! Grammy and I are SOOOOooooo impressed by the creativity and quality of your art gallery! Each time you add a new picture, it becomes more and more exciting and impressive. It's taken me a LOOOoooong time to figure out how to add our comments . . . but NOW, we can write right back to you. We really love your newest,*THE PIRATE PUMPKIN*. I don't know whether your Mom has told you, but I ordered a T-shirt with your 'Aliens and Monsters' and a mug for Grammy with your 'Blue Jay' picture . . . and just this morning I got an e-mail telling me they're on their way to us. I was hoping they would arrive before Halloween . . . so I could take a picture of them to send to you. Congratulations on some really beautiful and creative art work. We hope you're being a good 'Big Brother' and helping Brodan to follow in your footsteps. Keep up the good work ! ! ! All our love, Grampy & Grammy
