Dear Jordan, I really enjoy looking at your latest art project, Blue Dog. I like the imaginative way you have produced the blue dog's face superimposed on the silver background and over the brown. Congratulations on another masterpiece, Great-grandma Pat

Dear Jordan, I am very impressed that even though you are only 8, you have already progressed to modern art. Your art looks like two blankets to me in basic colors. The bottom part of each one looks like a city with houses but upside down. The blue part next to the houses appears to be farmland with farmhouses and crops. You have done a really great job with this artwork. Congratulations. Grandma Pat

Dear Jordan, I really like your turkey. It looks like a congenial animal that would be approachable and not just run away at the slightest sound. He knows how to spread his wings to get the attention of the hens. Grandma Pat

Dear Jordan, You have drawn an excellent dairy cow here. When I lived in a small town in Illinois, there were many dairy farms in the vicinity. Each dairy farm had a milking parlor. The dairy farmers milked three times a day. The cows did not like it if someone strange tried to milk them and would not give as much milk. Your cow seems unhappy as if she does not recognize the milker. She looks like she has made up her mind not to give as much milk as usual. Grandma Pat

Dear Jordan At first I thought this was a planet in some solar system. But I enlarged it and then it looked to me very much like a soccer ball. You have done such a good job of showing light and shadow on it. It looks like it is just sitting there waiting to be kicked. Grandma Pat

Dear Jordan, Grandpa Bob, who is an engineer, is especially impressed by the horse in your drawing. He says that everything about the horse is so clear - its eye, nostril, ears, its forelock, its body, and its mane. Not only am I impressed with the horse but with your clear definition of background, mid-ground, and foreground. I think I can even see a horsefly in the background. Very well done! Grandma Pat

Dear Jordan, Another marvelous artwork! What strikes Bob and me is your meticulous eye for detail - the wreath, the lights on the outside of the house, the use of colors on the snowman. You most certainly could be an engineer when you grow up. Great grandma Pat

Dear Jordan, What a wonderful portrait of yourself at 100 years old! You have not missed a single important detail such as the teeth, tongue, and wrinkles. I especially like the eyes, the glasses, and the shirt pattern with its top button. Jordan, you have such a great eye for detail and a unique way of creating it. You would make such a marvelous engineer when you grow up. Great-grandma Pat

Dear Jordan, Bob and I are very impressed with your artwork. What bold colors and superb linear definition! It reminds us of the famous French artist Paul Gaugin who is considered by many to be the father of modern art.

Dear Jordan, Bob and I are are simply ecstatic about the latest, your part of the valentine collage. We noticed your creative use of shaving cream. You created a clear X shape and other shapes with the shaving cream. We especially enjoy both the dark and light pinks you employed. Awesome!

Dear Jordan, I like your rodeo art. Your bronco looks ferocious. If I got on him, he'd buck me right off probably into that sturdy green barn. Your artwork is always so good. When Bob and I were in first grade, we never could have created a rodeo scene like yours. Great-Grandma Pat

Dear Jordan, Bob and I just love your Pumpkins in the Night artwork. It is so colorful; it reminds me of my favorite artist Vincent Van Gogh's Hay Stacks. Both Bob and I are impressed with your precise background alignment. Great-grandma Pat

Dear Jordan, Bob and I are very impressed with your self portrait. Many famous artists painted self portraits. One who did so was Vincent Van Gogh, one of my favorite artists. Congratulations!

Bob and I really like your friendly ladybug. She is smiling and very gracious looking. She would make a great hostess in a restaurant. She would perform well in any branch of customer service - an account manager of a bank, head of the complaint department at Home Depot, or a mediator in a labor dispute. We also enjoy your selection of colors; the shades of green in the background enhance the reds and blacks in the foreground. Well done! Great-Grandma Pat

Dear Jordan, Bob says he couldn't go as good job as you have done on your fish. And he is an engineer! I like the colors you have chosen - purple, orange, yellow, aqua, brown and black to make a very colorful fish. It is a colorful as the state fish of Hawaii - the Humuhumunukununukuapuaa. Dear Jordan, Sorry I have not left a comment sooner, but we just returned from Kauai. I love your chicks; you chose such bright colors for them which helps them stand out against the sky. Your clouds are quite realistic being several different shapes. Your sun, the flowers, and grass are nicely done, too. Great-grandma Pat

Congratulations on your latest brilliant artwork. I notice how you have taken an unconventional approach with your hearts. The colors are refreshing and original. I notice how cleverly you have divided your hearts. Such thinking as yours often produces brilliant engineers who design canals, dams, and diversion structures. Once again, congratulations! Dear Jordan, I lived 60 years in the Midwest, so I saw thousands of cardinals. That is why I am so impressed with this winter scene of yours. You have depicted the exact scenes I used to see: the winter trees with bare branches, big snowflakes covering those branches, and the cardinals perched on snowy branches. Your cardinals look just like the ones I used to see. Great-Grandma Pat

Something happened and everything disappeared, so I have to finish my message. So anyway, the temperature went up to 10 degrees above zero, and that felt positively warm. The arctic front kept moving south. The cold cracked the head of your great-uncle Terry Matte's boat the day your mother was born - December 23, 1989.

Dear Jordan, You have certainly created a very sturdy reindeer. He looks like he works out quite a bit, performing sit-ups, push-ups, squats, leg lifts, and pumping iron. Bob says your reindeer is welcome to fly in here any time and caddy for him and the rest of his foursome. GreatGrandma Pat

What a spectacular snowman! I particularly like his hat. It looks like a big cowboy hat. Bob is jealous; he has a lot of hats but none that big. I notice, too, that you have created a variety of snowflakes. They are floating down to the ground which must be very cold in order for them not to just melt. When Bob and I left Denver on October 2nd, it was snowing. They were big, wet flakes that melted on the sidewalks and streets because they were warmer than the air. However, the snowflakes stuck on the trees, bushes, and grass. It was quite beautiful. GreatGrandma Pat

Dear Jordan, Wow! That is an impressive turkey. I'd like to put him on our back patio that has a fountain and faces the golf course. We are always being visited by non-flying birds such as desert quail and roadrunners whom your turkey would feel very comfortable and at home with. He would have lots of friends to play with! Dear Jordan, Wow, you have a wonderfully fat pumpkin here! Bob figures it is 2 feet in diameter with a circumference of 6.2 feet. That should be enough for 89 pumpkin pies. And once again I am proud of your selection of a natural fruit over processed food. GreatGrandma Pat

Dear Jordan, Your Grandpa John loved apples. He ate the entire apple: core, stem, and seeds. Then he burped. I am proud that your artwork depicts the healthiness of unprocessed foods. Serena Mae gave me her mother's Weight Watchers recipe for a fast baked cinnamon apple. GreatGrandma Pat

Dear Jordan, I like your apple. I prefer green apples to red ones. Your Grandpa John just loved apples. He always ate the entire apple: stem, core, and seeds. Then he would burp. I was talking with Serena Mae the other day. Her mother belongs to Weight Watchers and is quite impressed that your artwork exhibits the healthiness of unprocessed food. She emailed me this tip. When I find myself craving something sweet, I can cut an apple into quarters, sprinkle cinnamon on the pieces, bake them in a conventional oven or in a microwave for 3 minutes. Delicious but healthy. The Wheels on the Bus is one of my favorite songs. I know all the verses. Your wheels are very big and strong. They could support an Army 2 and 1/2 ton truck easily. Make sure Serena Mae sees this; she will be very impressed and, better yet, so will her dad. Bob says to tell you that he can't draw nearly as well as you can. And neither can I. Grandma Pat
