Sarah, your chickadee watercolor painting is a lovely piece of work. Your technique exhibits an attractive degree of transparency and clarity of color. And I like the way the little bird is fluffed up, like it is keeping warm on a cold day.

Very interesting and attractive use of symmetry in design. And your color choices are beautiful, as is the gradual variation in value of the golds and yellows on the egg shapes. Interesting textures. I like the hexagonal shape of the artwork, too.

I love the rich colors and the graduation from the magenta to rose and back to magenta of the background. The use of salt while the paint is wet makes excellent snowflakes. Good work.

Sarah, Your 'lips' made me laugh (in a good way). Your imagination continues to amaze me. How you can come up with this idea of creating art from the word lips is wonderful. Love you!

Sarah, what a beautiful drawing. I love the subtle textures and value shifts that you reveal, both on the tree and in the background. And the stylized, organic, 'growing' quality of the branches is intriguing. It looks like the drawing is done in colored pencil. Is it? You are really growing in your handling of that medium. Mrs. B.

Sarah--What a fascinating way to develop a portrait. I love all the different ways you thought up to create the light and dark values, and those eyes looking right at the viewer! Very compelling. Your imagination, care and craftsmanship in this and your other artwork are obvious--excellent ideas and technique. This also expresses your love for making works of art. May that love stay with you in coming years and may you continue to grow in art each time you get out your materials and create something new. Please keep posting your work when you finish it. I want to see all the things that come next. Mrs. Bathurst
