Grace, Of all your artwork to date, I think this is my favorite. I feel the gentle humor and warmth, just from little touches you include, such as the moustache, and the eyes and the hair and the brush. My 1st thought was that the artist is French (and maybe he is) but then I see the canvas is of an American flag (always a subject I like to see celebrated!) This is a charming creation, Grace and I sense your growing skill. P.S. Did I tell you that I am back in Mentor (and not in Bellevue anymore)? What school are you at? Your blues and purples are rich and pleasing to the eye. Strong use of line defines each object clearly. The first thing I thought of, was the story "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs." Do you know that? There is something of fantasy and whimsy here and I wonder what you were imagining. I'm not sure. Nice and interesting, Grace. -- Dennis

This is one of your more interesting works, Grace. Your strong, sharp, fluid use of lines gives me the impression that you are growing and maturing in artistic skill. Did you draw them freehand? However you did it, very nice. I'm trying to decide if I am seeing a bird such as a peacock or phoenix, inside the square. -- Dennis
