Hi Sam, nothing better than being outside on a beautiful day and enjoying a book. I like the cool colors with contrast of the warm sun - it looks grounded and calm. Love, Grandma

Sam, This is a beautiful piece of work! It is very detailed, colorful, and a great outdoor theme with 3D-like dimension! What a great culmination of all your fantastic artworks at Brassfield Elementary! We are very proud of you, young man! Love, Aunt

Hi Sam, I am enjoying the block collage representing your environment. My sister and I spent a summer of weekly visits to the National Gallery of Art to study the "Old Masters". You would like the National Gallery of Art and the Hirshhorn Museum. Much Love, Grandma.

Sam - I see you have acquired a new skill and did a great job with your project. I know it's a small challenge when changing colors and the combination is very nice. Hope you have a good school year. Much love!

Hi Sam, Great to see your artwork again! It's been a long time! This latest one is a real piece of art; you have come a LONG ways since your last entry! Your dexterity is amazing! If it does not take too long, can you make us one for Christmas?!? Love, -G'Aunt

Sam, I really like your ocean-dweller. It is a happy ocean-dweller. Its eyes are very friendly, and its smile is genuine. Most of all, I like your 3-D effect. It looks like it can almost jump out of the picture. I am not very good at making things look 3-D. It can almost be the main character in a kid's movie. Love, Grand-Aunt

At first I did not recognize you, Sam. Then I realized that this is how you represent yourself using using geometric shapes. Great job using the principles of cubism in your art - you are getting too smart for me! Love, Grandma.

Dear Sam, What a great and detailed piece of art! How long did it take you to complete this? And how big is this art? Your details and imagination are amazing! Love, Grand-Aunt

Hi Sam, I really like your turkey and the words on its feathers! You will be the Spelling Bee King soon! Your turkey reminds me of when your Granddad, Grandmom and I were returning from your house. And we saw a turkey, smack-dab in the middle of the highway!! See you soon, Grand-Aunt

Sam, I like this painting because it captures the spirit of the rainbow in the blue sky. This style is called "impressionism" and shows your feeling at the time. The style of your other pictures is "realism" where you did a good job with all the details. Now you paint like Monet! Love, Grandma.
