You did a wonderful job with your first attempt at "Circle Art". I love the lines and patterns that you drew inside of the circle. You are on your way to learning how much fun using Math concepts in your art projects. Be sure to add a statement saying how you made this great circle art and what you liked best. Very good job!

Congratulations!. You have achieved several standards with this one project. First you used math concents when creating your quilt squares. Remember, the standard of "symmetry" was achieved by the way you balanced your "shapes". We did not have to also balance color. You chose any colors BUT you had to keep the shapes symmetrical. Good job. You also found out that Quilt Making is an ART that uses lots of MATH! Beautiful patterns in each one of your pattern squares. And finally, you created a successful "collage" (a project that is made by cutting and pasting) You should be very proud of this project. Be sure to add a statement and tell me what you liked the best about your beautiful and colorful quilt.

You have achieved the standard of learning how to cut to produce objects in symmetry. Both sides should be exactly the same. Remember to always draw the object with the center on the fold line, keep folded, and cut carefully. I hope you remember the difference between the positive shape hearts and the negative space hearts that make our "windows". Collage is NOT easy. You have to really think about your composition so it does not look like everything is covering up other elements. Practice will make perfect so keep practicing.

I was so very sad to see that George Rodrique, the creator of Blue Dog passed away this December. What a wonderful gift he gave to the world with this cute little creation. You can still look at all of his Blue Dog paintings and books on his web site. I hope you do! www.georgerodrique.com
There are some fun educational games on his webpage too that include his Blue Dog art.

Beautiful work. Your monochromatic value scale painting makes a wonderful background for your winter tree. You achieved the standard of foreground, middle ground, and background with the correct placement of the tree, fence, birds, and bright color on the value scale. The snow really appears to be catching in all the angles on the tree and fence. Good job! Keep up the great work. Your artistic skills are improving with each project!

Drawing in symmetry is easy when you know how! You are did an extremely creative job with this project. I am very proud of each one. I loved ready your stories too. You can add more to your artist statement from home if you would like too. You can also add a title for your creation. Great work!

These are so beautiful. What wonderful drawing skills you are developing with this project. I know you have even amazed yourself with how REAL your pumpkins look. Beautiful results. With this project you have achieved the standard of highlighting and shading using oil pastels to make a flat 2D shape appear to be a 3D form. You also learned how to "blend" colors for a more realistic look. Be sure to add any comments about this project like what you liked best or what you learned. So proud of you.
